This Car alarm system arrived today. I ran it by my mechanic before purchase and he says this model should work just perfectly for me. I cannot wait to be able to warm or cool my car before I leave the house. What a luxury!!! This is a standard kit, and comes with everything to set up your remote car start. The ad appears true to the item. I can't wait to have my mechanic install it!!! I will update my review once it's installed.

Wired it up but does not work, instead of working it clicks but doesn’t do anything. Not universal!

I got this for my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee to bring it up to date a bit. I will start off by saying, that it IS a bit of work to set it up yourself, you are going to need the wiring diagram for your car (Haynes Manual or Service Manual) to make sure you are wiring everything where its supposed to go. Twist nuts are good, crimp tubes with shrink wraps on top are better, soldering with shrink tubes are best. Just go with what you got. follow the instructions and make sure you DISCONNECT the negative (black) battery terminal on your car BEFORE you start working on everything. For my vehicle, it has a SCIM unit that will not allow the car to turn on without reading the chip on the key in proximity to the ignition, so I just zip-tied my spare key on top of the SKIM unit. All in all, with some time and effort and a little elbow grease, you can get it installed. Very good product, works great so far.
