I got this to hold my loose gym chalk in my chalk pouch when I'm climbing and so far it's worked great. I'm using pretty fine chalk but it's still holding it and just as easily gets my hands chalked up for a climb. No complaints so far, seems to get the job done.

Disclaimer - I've never actually used a chalk bag like this before, so take my review with a grain of... chalk!I do kettlebell workouts quite often, and there are times when it feels like I might not have the firmest grip on the kettlebell because of oil or sweat on my hands. While some of my kettlebells have a textured coating, others have a glossy-type coating. It is the glossy-type which sometimes feel slippery.When I feel that my grip is slippery, I just pick up the bag, give it a squeeze with each hand, and I put it back down. That's all it takes! From that point on, I have a better grip AND a lot more confidence - whether doing regular swings, tossing back and forth between hands for alternating single-handed swings, for Turkish get-ups, or any other exercises.Some other reviewers noted that it can be messy to store and use this chalk bag. I don't bother putting it back into the zip-lock bag which it comes it. I have a plastic tub which I keep it in so it doesn't make a mess. I can pick it up, use it, and drop it back down quickly whenever I need it.The price is right with this product, too!

I am not a powerlifter, I’m not lifting heavy enough to require chalk (yet). I am, however, a rock climber, and I like using chalk socks in chalk bags to reduce puffs of chalk in the air.This sock is quite cheap, it holds up great, it’s simple and easy to use, and I don’t see it breaking any time soon. You just grab the ball and it puffs some chalk out onto your hands. It’s simple, and it works.I will say, however, this chalk sock is not the best for climbing uses, and that’s fine since it probably wasn’t designed for that. I think the material is thicker, which means less chalk comes out. It usually requires some finagling to get the right amount of chalk on my hands and when I’m on the wall it’s just not fast enough. So all in all, great chalk sock, best for weightlifting and gymnastics!

I know it says climbing, but I use this to play pool. The bag is nice and soft and I keep it in a quart ziptop bag. Just reach in and give it a slight squeeze and my hand is chalked enough that the stick rides smoothly.
