I've had a lot of trouble with devices barely being able to communicate with their receivers, but this device works really well, and was incredibly painless to set up. I'm not sure I like the button on the top of the device that switches the connection mode (do a lot of people really need to rapidly change how the thing is connected?), but the button is somewhat out of the way.Extra points for coming in all-paper packaging.

Wore out the first one I had (6+yrs). I had wrist pain with a regular mouse, but I found this one that is manipulated by your thumb and index finger. It takes a little practice but no more wrist pain.

I've been using the Logitech wireless trackball mouse for several years now. I still very much like them, but I wanted a trackball that has a few more features: 1) sideways tracking 2) USB-C recharging and a 3) slightly larger footprint. This one was supposed fit that bill, and for about 3 days, it did. And then.....-The cursor started getting very "jittery" after about an hour of use. I thought my OS was acting up. Turns out, the built in battery was almost fully discharged. Hmmm. No bueno. I plug in the charging cable, and voila, works like a charm. So, it's now been a wired mouse.-The trackball initially was silky smooth in its rolling performance... well, that lasted about 3 days. It has slowly getting more and more difficult to roll. I've cleaned the bearings several times. I've tried the dry silicone suited for plastic electronics, and while it helped initially (a little), it's now as bad as ever. To the point I've simply gone back to my 4 year old logictech mouse. This isn't the first kensington office product I've used, but it certainly is the worst.(I would have returned it within the 30 day window, but alas, extended work trips are a thing.) I am reaching out directly to kensington to see what they say. I'll follow up on this review once finality is reached.

It's one of the more comfortable trackballs on the market for certain, but for whatever reason the bluetooth pairing button/switch is right below the scroll wheel, while the DPI switch is on the underside of the device. This is backwards for my purposes, but I can't find another trackball that's any better for me at the moment, so it'll have to do.

The Kensington TB550 is very comfortable, I tested with Mac and Linux and works fine so far, in mac it is very customizable with KensingtonWorks, at the beginning I thought that it didn't have a good response in mac, but after setup with the tool, works like charm, no issues with the Bluetooth mode, the dongle works fine as well, very happy with the mouse

This trackball offers a comfortable grip, it took not a long time of getting used to after a year of using Logitech M575 shape. It's not worse or better, just a little different. Build quality feels good for the price. The left and right buttons provide pleasant tactile feedback, which I prefer a little more to the silent switches on ProtoArc EM04. The back and forward buttons are easy to click, and the scroll wheel, made of some kind of metal, is smooth and pleasant to scroll. Switch device button on the top is convenient. And ball eject button is better solution that a hole.Battery life is good. Unlike ProtoArc, which required frequent charging, at least once a week considering I switched it off after work, this trackball lasts a long time on a single charge, no need to switch off. I check battery from time to time and there is no noticeable discharge. The only drawback for me is the non-replaceable battery. The TB450 model has a replaceable battery, and it would be preferable to have that option here as well. I don't have any issues with Bluetooth or scroll. It's smooth and match competitors performance. The included software looks inconvenient and heavy (~350mb).I bought this trackball because of it's design and color scheme. It matches my other hardware. But aside from design it's just a good trackball.

I travel a lot and I bring my MacBook Air with me on these trips. I use GoogleMap a lot and Apple's touchpad makes it impossible to drag, drop, and click. As a result I use an external mouse. I bought this trackball mouse to try out on my recent trip to Taiwan. This mouse is functional in a positive way. The feel or tactile response for the scroll wheel and 2 primary buttons are excellent. The ball has the right amount of resistance and roll making pointing efficient. The only noticeable problem is the scroll wheel click. It is too sensitive and I end up clicking or opening an icon I did not mean to open. This trackball mouse like all trackball is a little too big for travel. There is little space on an airplane or hotel room for such a device. With that said the trackball set up allows cursor movement in a tight space.

I often use a laptop with a lap table laying on my lap while sitting on a couch. Using a traditional mouse has been problematic as the mouse moves uncontrollably on the lap table. Went with this trackball mouse to eliminate that problem. It has taken some adjustment on my part, but I am getting used to it. The trackball and wheel are very smooth. I reprogrammed the 2 small buttons to 'page up' and 'page down'

I have over the years used several brands and several designs of track ball mice.I believe Kingston makes some of the best and affordable track ball mice on the market. This one is a bit more square than some of their models and the ball is a bit smaller too. However it functions nicely and at an amazing price for a Kingston.

This trackball has the potential to be really good, the overall quality of the device is pretty good and you can tell that a lot went into the design process of the TB550. Herein lies the problem for me though, despite Kensington being very proud of their design process and the ergonomic approach to their products, the trackball is just too narrow and small for my hand and it's something I couldn't escape from when using it. You can have the most innovative and intuitive design in the world but if there isn't enough space for your hand to rest on it's pointless. My hands are not particularly big either but I would assume for small hands this might be fine but for me sadly it wasn't. This is also the same experience that I had with the Orbit with Scroll Wheel and the Orbit Fusion, there just isn't enough usable surface area for your hand to rest on. Besides that the materials used are nice to the touch, the trackball is relatively smooth and the buttons and scroll wheel feel good quality.
