I usually wear the steel toed athletic version of keens. But every one I ordered within the past year, they seemed uncomfortable and I sent them back. I decided to try out these boots because I've never worn them before. I was so pleasantly surprised at how comfortable these actually are. As a female who does actual real life construction, I appreciate the full protection. Of course they are all leather so I suspect my feet will get hot in the summer months. I found them to be true to size- i'm a 6.5 and they fit perfect. They also didn't need any break in time. I don't find them heavy because I'm used to wearing steel toed shoes for a living. I like the fact that I can lace them all up or not. Sometimes I don't tie them as tight if I won't be going in and out of a jobsite or my work van. They are flexible and I love them. Finally a comfortable shoe and it's pretty soft on the bottom. The only downside is the pattern on the bottom. If you're walking in mud/dirt, the soles tend to get clogged up due to the varying pattern on the bottom. But I'm sure they do that purposely for grip. Thanks Keen, please keep making more women's work shoes/boots. There's more women in construction than people think and we need good shoes!

These are, by far, the most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn. I have spent months trying to break them in, break the toe so it doesn't point up so jarringly, nothing makes them more comfortable. Every time I wear them my feet start hurting withing a few minutes. Not just a dull ache either, it feels like I'm on the verge of pulling something in the bottom of my foot with every step. If I wear them for more than an hour, I pay for it the next morning too. Severe ankle pain and the bottom of my feet are so tender it hurts to put my feet on the ground. I tortured myself trying to break these boots in and finally gave up. As soon as I stopped wearing them, all of my foot and ankle pain stopped. This is so disappointing considering my last pair of steel toe keens (a discontinued style) were the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I had to steal the laces off these and break out my ragged old boots to save my feet.

I've had several pairs of Keen boots and size 9 usually fits perfectly. My feett felt scrunched in size 9 in these boots. Otherwise they seemed comfortable and less bulky than other composite toed boots. I'll return for size 9 wide and 9.5.

These boots are just awesome and I only have positive things to say about them. In addition to being leather (who doesn’t love leather?), they will last for years, they wear incredibly well and will stretch over time to accommodate your feet. I admit these boots were love at first sight as soon as I opened the box. They fit well, look incredible (I know.. they are utility boots) but they look fantastic. They are clearly made of quality leather and the construction is done to perfection. It is clear that the company takes pride in the quality of the items they sell as these are incredibly well made.Although I do not work in a warehouse I nevertheless can use these for a multitude of purposes (such as when my husband and I are remodeling areas of our house) or when I just need added protection for my feet (these are steel toe boots as well). They are water-proof however keep in mind they are not rain boots yet they will withstand harsh weather and messy situations, such as construction sites, working in the garage, doing volunteer work rehabilitating homes, etc, as this is what they are meant to do - they are definitely your ‘workhorse boots.’Despite them being steel-toe boots they are comfortable and my feet were not fatigued after working 12 hours with my husband as we were remodeling our downstairs bathroom. These are great boots, incredibly well made, comfortable and of high quality materials. They will definitely last me for many, many years and I plan to take them with me when we go on an upcoming mission trip to help build an orphanage overseas. I am so pleased with these boots and declare them as absolute total winners!

I have the keen steel toes shoes and thought the boots would be the same size.. not the case. They were to tight. Order one size bigger.
