This paint is extremely durable, would highly recommend for the frame of your off-road vehicle. Only issue is it’s pretty much impossible to save in my experience. You gotta be ready to get the whole job done in 1-2 sessions.

I bought a 2011 truck recently that had spent enough time in salt that it needed to be taken care of. I sand blasted the frame and a friend at work had recommended KBS. I have never used a product like this. It's almost like it forms a hard shell over the metal, not like just painting it. It came out wonderful and would recommend it to anyone. I am now going to order more and continue up the frame. Word to the wise, use it out of a different container. If you get KBS on the lid of the container, it will not open again. Yes, I made that mistake but this is a minor issue compared to the quality finish you get with this product.

I used this to protect various parts on my 93 Jeep Yj mostly on parts of the frame and bumpers where surface rust had started to form over the years. I prepped all of the surfaces with a wire wheel, phosphoric acid, degreaser, this product, then I top coated the areas that are exposed to direct sun with a black satin spray paint. This product went on easily, covered well, and after a few coats was as hard as a rock. I'm truly impressed.I choose to store this product in a glass mason jar, instead of the original can, it made the cleanup and seal/unseal process much easier. Just clean the lid and make sure the top rim is completely clear of product before sealing it up, good to go.

Well. Have some surface rust on my truck outer doors. Wire wheeled and cover with this product. This stuff sticks. Was able to use a roller, it is not so thick you cant. Use plastic over can or you will never get in there again. Expect to throw away brush and roller away. Do not get this on anything you don't want to. Wear gloves. Has a fairly gloss finish. Just used it. Only time will tell if it stops the rust. I will purchase this again.

Frankly I was on the fence with the $45 dollar price tag for a quart of paint. However, reviews were praising this product so I bough it. The sealer is pretty thick and sticky but applying was easy with a single use cheap brush. If you have porous rusted surfaces it takes a lot of effort working the thick stuff into the pores. After the first coat dried the surface was uniform so I did not think a second coat is necessary.Despite the single coat on a small interior area I was a it surprised how much I used up from the can. Does it cover 50 SF as indicated? I doubt it. Also the user instructions upsell their other surface preparation products. If I buy those too probably spend a lot more.So the most frustrating part was opening the can. The lid is made of a very soft, light gauge metal and so deep and tight that I was not able to pry it open. I went around and the rim unrolled before the lid released. As you see on the pictures finally there was a 2" part only holding the lid back but it would still not come out. I ended up using a monkey wrench than the lid started bending. And now I cannot put it back.Overall I think it is probably a good product but way over priced. It is probably best to apply for critical areas like sub frame etc. Only time will tell how good it is and whether it is worth the price of a gallon of premium Benjamin More paint. I would not buy it again just because of the lid issue. I mean this is pretty basic and there are other products out there.

Nothing will clean the brush if dried not even turpentine . This paint is in some league of its own . Also once you open the can better follow the direction or you will have to drill through it . I don’t think you can get a tougher paint . I used it for my lintels which where rusting now it looks great .

As advertised. Best to apply with a brush that can be thrown away afterwards. Not good in a spray gun (will ruin it for good). Wear OLD clothes and DO NOT get on your skin as it will not clean off. Very tough finish if used properly. I used a rust converter as a primer and then coated over that. Be sure to clean off loose rust before any application of any product. The coating is a tough as any epoxy and maybe even better. Be sure to put cling wrap over can to close it up so the metal top does not contact the metal can. If you don't use the cling wrap, the can will never open again.

Love the stuff, I have used it to coat my firewall and frame on my 1967 Camaro. The stuff is amazing tough once its cured but not the most beautiful finish. The prep when applying this is very important, if you read the instructions it sounds like you just clean the surface of lose material, degrease, and apply but I had a lot of issues with it not adhering well if I just did this. On the firewall I sanded most of it down to bare metal, degreased, and then used their metal prep and it worked great, for the frame I had to sand blast it first then degreased & metal prep. The other thing with this that I found is if I used a brush the pieces got pulled out of the brush and stuck in the paint and it left very obvious streaks in the paint. I switched to foam brushes and they worked better and did not streak near as much but they can leave piece of foam in the paint that is hard to remove and they do not last. I ended up coating both surfaces (firewall and frame) with 3 to 4 coats of semi-gloss black Rustoleum spray paint to cover the streaks, this left a very nice finished product. Also don't get it on yourself or anything else and if you do immediately clean it off, it takes weeks to wear off of your body. Also once you open the can it can be very hard to re-open it, it tends to seal itself and re-opening can leaves it ruined. I poured it into a glass jar to save.
