I really have trouble determining the correct direction. It seems to be pointing south no even when i make a turn.

Received 3/5/25, returned 3/10/25. As a former trained artillery soldier I know how to "box a compass" and adjust for declinations but nothing worked with this useless compass. It would ONLY point in West positions. Don't waste your time buying this or any of the car dash mounted compasses.

Outside of my new 2024 car it works well, but inside it’s effected by the various electronics located everywhere from ceiling to console…the em fields created lock a magnetic analog compass into pointing a single direction relative to the nearest field. It might work well in an older car that doesn’t have a touch screen display, digital dashboard, emergency call system, gps antitheft tracking, Bluetooth, wifi, and gods know what else, but it my car it’s useless. I got a digital compass with em field compensators and satellite feed instead (just $5 more than this one) and that works very well.

Item is a compact/solid unit, easy to use/see,and shows direction correctly where your looking.But will have to try misc dash areas, until works.

Very happy with quality , and accuracy! Put on dash of 2025 Honda CRV , behind GPS Screen. Looks great and functions perfectly. To assure good mounting , i used ( E-Z Pass velcro from Lowes

The compass did not work anywhere inside our vehicle. It works fine outside and away from vehicle. It did not work as advertised.

My new Honda HR-V sadly does not have a compass. I didn’t realize this till after I bought the car. I make frequent trips without using a GPS and all I need to know is that I’m heading in the right direction. This compass, on my dashboard will do. Seems to be pretty accurate.

This compass absolutely did not work for me. It did not work in the car, it did not work in the house, it did not work on the lawn, it did not work in a box, it did not work with a fox. I do not like it Sam I Am.The KanPas “compass” that I received was, in point of fact, NOT a compass at all. Why? Because it proclaimed that I was *always* facing the same direction, no matter which direction I was actually facing. (The KanPas compass devoutly asserted that all directions would ever and always be SSE. Praise be to SSE. All glory to the eternal SSE. Thanks be to the almighty SSE. Amen.)A compass has *one* very simple job to do, which is to detect and respond to the Earth’s natural magnetic fields and clearly display that reaction thereby providing the user with a consistent sense of direction. If it performs this simple job, we can rightly call it a “compass.”Important Note: It is okay if the sense of direction provided by a compass is based on magnetic north rather than “true” north, so long as the compass consistently detects magnetic north.The floaty ball object I received did not do this.Executive Summary: The KanPas “compass” I received (by proclaiming ALL directions ever and always to be SSE) was not only an abject failure as a compass, it was, in actual fact, NOT a compass at all.Because of its inability to perform the one simple job of a compass (to detect and respond to the Earth’s natural magnetic fields and clearly display this reaction, thereby providing the user with a consistent sense of direction) the KanPas object I was sent, although labeled a “compass” by the company, was not, in fact, a compass. It doesn't work! North is not north on this compass. I bought it for my daughter to put in her vehicle so very disappointing. I waited too long so I can't return it now
