I baked three different cake recipes in this lamb/sheep form, since it came without instructions on how to use it. The batter keeps running out of the head, back into the body. The ears burnt each time. I am not pleased with this product:

While it might seem obvious to some, it is not clear to me how to use it. Is there a recipe to test bake it? Do you fill each half partially? Im guessing you lay the back over the front. Right? How long do i bake it for? What temperature do I bake it at? How do I test when it's done? It's very frustrating.

I struggled for years with broken necks and ears with my family’s traditional metal lamb mold, and tried this on a whim. What a difference!! It was easy to grease/flour, the lamb popped out in one piece and stands up as he should. I used the Solo canned almond filling recipe for almond Bundt cake (it is online), baked it for 55 min in 350 oven. and it made just the right amount to fill it out. Now for the icing!

Bought this so my daughter and I could make our own Lamb Cake Fail. In that sense, it was entertaining, BUT... there's a couple things you should know. (1) it takes 3 boxes of cake mix, so plan accordingly. (2) Those ears will not be edible; they are too small and you have to bake forever to get the body fully cooked through. I baked at a about 25° lower for almost twice as long, (50° convection) for reference. But it is a cute mold overall and the cake came out of it easily. Easy to wash out too. Will use it again next year.

The first problem I encountered, and noticed the same questions being asked in other reviews, was "How do I use this?" There are no instructions included. Most lamb molds are stainless steel and you fill one side, clamp or tie the other side to it and let the cake rise into the top part of the mold. This product does not work that way. You have to fill each side (back and front of the lamb) about 3/4 of the way up and bake separately. But even at that, the batter does not reach the ears. So, after baking about 15 mins, I opened the oven and poured more batter into the ear area. That seemed to work.I used a heavy pound cake recipe and baked at 350F for nearly an hour. It all depends on your oven (mine is terrible). I sprayed the silicone pans with cooking spray and the cake slipped out easy. The ears did initally attach, but fell off when I transfered the cake to the platter - I had to attach them with toothpicks. Then you have to keep both sides of the lamb together with skewers and toothpicks + frosting.I think it turned out great!

I made the cake for Easter. It looked great after baked and decorated. Unlike other molds there were no instructions. After some research I was able to figure it out. Because of having to use two cake mixes and two icing cans. I won't be using again. I gave it 5 stars because the cake did come out beautiful.

I had never used a silicon mold. Be sure to grease and flour a lot. After cooking for a few minutes, the lambs practically fell out. All in one piece (2 halves). For reference I used a box pound cake in each side. Easy cleanup

This was easy to release the cake and keep the shape of the lamb. We tried to make a pound cake though and the head came out a little crispy while the middle was still liquid. Would recommend normal cake mix. We sprayed the mold and wiped off excess, but did not flour the pan. Worked great!!
