This is my first experience with a cleaning brush but it seems to work fairly well. Usually the debris will stick to the bristles. Once you get the hang of how to do it, it's easy enough - but it does take a little practice.I chose this one because it had good reviews and it also came with a brush for the stylus, which works well. The handle doesn't fully clean out debris, even when swiping over it multiple times. But that's fine, I just use a chopstick or something similar. Seems really well made and durable.I'll probably get an ultrasonic cleaner at some point, but for the time being this has done wonders at eliminating hisses, pops, and other noise that I thought wouldn't go away. And for the price, I'd say it's a great deal and a necessity if you play records frequently. I use mine before and after each side, unless I don't see dust/etc.My process: I first gently apply the front edge and then rock to the back. Really heavily soiled records need multiple passes, dusting out the bristles with a chopstick or something similar inbetween, as the bristles will only collect so much before scraping it across the surface.

This inexpensive kit works fine. However the corners of the bristle brush are extremely sharp metal and I've made the mistake of scratching a few records when my technique became sloppy. Obviously this is my fault, however these incredibly hsarp metal edges are, by design, less than a centimeter from your valuabel records. A plastic or wood handle would have been better, with rounded corners. Caution.

Some are not comfortable using a stylus brush. I have used one since the 90s & they work great. I keep the tone arm locked in its rest and gently give the stylus one or two wipes from the rear of cart towards the front. That’s it. I compared this to stylus cleaning gel that you lower the stylus until it touches and raise it back up a few times. It removes dust, but under a microscope scope it doesn’t always fully clean the stylus the way the brush does. The record cleaning Carbon fiber brush works very well. I find that it does not generate the static that the old Discwasher dust cleaners can/do. (big wood grip)This is a great kit that works and is reasonably priced.

Removes dust and pops, and keeps needle clean. I still use spray cleaner as well, but this is my go-to for records that are mostly clean and in good shape.

I thought this product was sub-par as the handles was falling off and the bristles were come loose, so I purchased the AudioQuest brush at 3x the price. It was not any better - in fact it was losing far more fibers and it was delivered with the handle separated from the brush. Geez! Plus, the AudioQuest product touts that it is revolutionary b/c it creates an electrical connection between the handle and the fibers, to combat static. Guess what, so does this Kaiu.I am back to using the Kaiu, as it's apparently as good, or better than any brush of this type. Happy to come back here to say that!

Works well, cleans both records and stylus. I like the convenience of being able to store it in a travel bag when going to vacation home. Definitely a good value for the money.

Keeps albums in good shape and removes surface dirt well. If you are rehabbing or deep cleaning an older collection however, you may want to invest in a record washing system. There are several available on this sight. Used in tandem, I’ve rehabbed/cleaned my entire album collection, with great results. At that point, I’d give the process five star results. Cuts about half the noise on its own, and repetition ups that a lot. Great place to to start your album maintenance kit

I use the heck out of these. The stylus brush is great, I have a small bottle of distilled water by the turntable, each side I use 2 or 3 drops of water on the pad and a few back to front swipes and its visibly clean, much faster than dry by a mile. Sounds clean too, even on my system a dirty stylus is immediately audible. Also, I figure 3 wet swipes is less damage than 15 dry swipes, and if distilled water damages the stylus glue I figure it wasn't good in the first place.I have a device that allows me to spin my records easily, and its made of MDF, so no grounding properties. I use the CF brush dry on a spinning record to bleed off static and it seems to be more effective and easier than holding it in my hand. I find spinning the record and holding this brush against it definitely helps reduce static and dust. Apparently it doesnt work well if you put the record on a turntable, but I have my device for that. Either way, I've had these a minute, they work great. Deep cleaning? stylus yes, record brush no.

Great cleaning tool. However, still produces a small amount of static.
