Once I installed one it would have sound when on five but no sound on 1 (normal) and no sound on 10 (not normal). Got disgusted with the project and have shelved it for the time being.

I have been using these pots for a while with no issues but my last batch of two, one of them was bad, hence the 4 stars.

I repair musical instruments and always try and have parts in stock.I have customers that will bring in their guitars when their pots wear out. These work well. Work smoothly and are quiet. In fact I already have to purchase a couple more.

I purchased these for my guitar mod. They are a must for certain types of humbucker pickups like the wide range pickups for a lot better tone and balance with the neck and bridge . Great product and a good quality pot.

I had an Epiphone Explorer that was dark sounding. I tried a few different things including changing pickups, but that didn't really solve the overall darkness that I perceived. I ended up buying these 1 meg pots for the two volume knobs and it now has a more aggressive attack and more high end. This somewhat translates to a slight bit more clarity, too. I'm sure that finding the right pickup to pair it with would go a long way. It definitely saved the overall sound of the guitar. These pots are well, built and seem sturdy. I did notice that one of them read 950K when wide open. Either way, it worked really well with my setup.

I understand tolerances are going to be present. Thats ultimately what you're paying for. With this set of 2, one of my 25k pots was valued at 25.7k and the other was hitting 21.0k. That's a 16% variance! I was reaslistically expecting 5-7%. So if you need a 25k, cross your fingers or spend a little bit more for better tolerances, or you're just going to end up paying double or triple just to find a workable value.
