I am a first responder, fire fighter/medic, I obtained this climbing and/or rescue helmet to keep and use with my rope rescue equipment. I find this helmet to be fantastic! It is very light weight but, it is still constructed with high quality. It fits my head really well, I have issues with helmets and hats fitting me, the adjustable inner straps make the helmet fit snug on your head. It is comfortable to be worn for hours in any weather conditions, I forget I have it on after a while. The bright yellow color adds a level of safety with it being bright and noticeable.I love this helmet. I have no doubts about its quality or its ability to protect me. I think the price is great for what you are receiving. I highly recomment this brand of climbing/rescue helmet.

Cheaply made, fits our son better than my husband.

I won't know if this really works unless it is put to the test. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen.I won't be rock climbing, but instead will be entering a roof where the ceiling may OR may not be compromised. I'm mostly worried about falling drywall and maybe some nails, but if I was worried about something more substantial, I wouldn't be risking it by using a helmet not rated for that.I have a large head. Most hats and helmets are uncomfortable for me and it's been hard to find a perfect fit. I ordered the largest possible helmet and I was pleasantly surprised that it not only fit, but it was super comfortable. I felt more secure than I'd ever felt in a helmet of any kind.I handed it over to a household member with a smaller head and it was met with mixed reviews. It did adjust to fit, but they weren't as comfortable. Maybe they needed a smaller size. I don't know how to respond to that.Bottom line: Would I order again? Yes, for my purposes, this seems perfect. Would I gift? Never having had a rock-climbing helmet, I don't know if the features are standard. I wouldn't know if this was a good helmet to gift for that purpose. But, if I knew someone who has had a hard time finding a good helmet that fits, I would feel comfortable in suggesting this.

I got this helmet for climbing. It is very lightweight, and does not feel heavy on the head. I think this will provide sufficient protection from small to medium-sized rocks coming down from above, and noggin' knocks. Doubt it will save you from large boulders or long falls, few helmets would. The chin strap is fairly easy to adjust. The strap feels comfortable, and does not slip. The helmet looks sharp on the head. My only concern was the fit of the helmet. I believe I have a medium to large head, fairly standard issue. This M-XL helmet fits me comfortably, but there is no extra room in the front to back direction. If you have a large head, this might be an issue. And seriously, M to XL in one non-adjustable helmet, they need another size in there.

Having trained in Wildnerness First Response and Search and Rescue Ops in locations where such a helmet would and should be used, I've worn various makes and models of reliably known and certified protective headgear. This isn't one I would use.Prime example, the protection provided by the exterior shell on bicycle helmets is openly acknowledged that ANY significant 'hit' can and will render the helmet unsafe for its intended use. There is ZERO padding or protection to the back of the helmet, meaning (and this is physics, folks) that a direct hit by any object at velocity or of mass will translate its force almost directly to your skull, and likely shatter or crack the helmet.1) This is the sort of kit handed out to tourists at recreational rope courses or zip lines...and as such would quickly become clear it's for looks/liability only.2) The padding is minimal and not adjustable for optimal fit, as will arrive with any reputable bicycle helmet.3) The outer shell is thin, bends easily, and would likely shatter. No documentation arrived with the product showing certification.4) The adjustable strap and fitting instructions are clear and easy to follow. That said, worn without a watch cap or some other 'buffer' headwear, this helmet still is ill-fitting and difficult to reliably adjust.5) Worn as suggested, you may look the part, but that's not the point of protective gear.6) I used protective helmets in cycling, sea kayaking, climbing, and wearing on SAR operations in mountainous terrain where rock fall is a serious issue and safely securing a scene where injury has occurred is a critical step in incident assessment. If someone handed me this before going out on an op, I'd look for the real thing and not some gear meant for appearances.7) My main response was that this is unsuitable for the uses for which it is being sold and I would not recommend it.

I bought this for occasional mountaineering, but primarily to use when cave diving. I like the light weight design and soft foam inside, but the tension strap needs some work. While the adjusting knob is a nice touch, and upgrade compared to some helmets, the strap does not sit low enough to rest comfortably and securely on the back of the head. If the strap is pushed low enough where it feels secure, the plastic parts instantly cause hot spots. It may be worth mentioning I really don't have a huge or weird shaped head. I usually wear a M/L, I got a L/XL. I doubled checked wondering the size was off, causing my head not to be deep enough. The fit is fine otherwise, it's just that the strap has an odd design.I might play with it, and see if I can cover it, or replace it with an old helmet's strap but for right now I'm somewhat disappointed. If I could give it a 2.5 I would since it's really not useable for me, unless I modify it.

Comfortable and lightweight. Protected my head from an impact from a low cave ceiling. Good purchase.
