An old-fashioned favorite, Swedish Ivy is fast growing and easily propagated. The leaves of the Swedish Ivy have a sweet scalloped edge and are variegated in a white and green pattern. It will bloom with light white/purple flowers and dead heading the spent blooms will allow new flowers to bloom more quickly. Swedish Ivy is considered an evergreen perennial that prefers part sun indoors. Direct sunlight will burn the leaves, so place the plant in indirect light. Keep soil moist and don’t allow to dry out. Use a well-drained soil to promote good root health and discourage rot. Swedish Ivy makes a great container garden plant for the large container. Prune often to keep desired size. This plant makes a beautiful houseplant in a hanging basket. In a pot, it will grow over the sides and create a round, full plant. Swedish Ivy can be used in a vivarium or animal terrarium as a ground cover or on a background. Plant in a well-drained location and prune as needed to keep in control. Hardy in zones 10-11. Plants from Josh’s Frogs are specifically grown to be safe for use with animals. Live plants may vary in color, size and appearance.
