Plectranthus australis - Swedish Ivy (Green) also known as Swedish Begonia and Creeping Charlie is a member of the Lamiaceae family of plants and is native to South Africa. An old-fashioned favorite, Swedish Ivy is fast growing and easily propagated. The leaves of the Swedish Ivy have a sweet scalloped edge and are variegated in a white and green pattern. It will bloom with light white/purple flowers and dead heading the spent blooms will allow new flowers to bloom more quickly. Swedish Ivy is considered an evergreen perennial that prefers part sun indoors. Direct sunlight will burn the leaves, so place the plant in indirect light. Keep soil moist and don’t allow to dry out. Use a well-drained soil to promote good root health and discourage rot. Swedish Ivy makes a great container garden plant for the large container. Prune often to keep desired size. This plant makes a beautiful houseplant in a hanging basket. In a pot, it will grow over the sides and create a round, full plant. Swedish Ivy can be used in a vivarium or animal terrarium as a ground cover or on a background. Plant in a well-drained location and prune as needed to keep in control. Hardy in zones 10-11. Plants from Josh’s Frogs are specifically grown to be safe for use with animals. Live plants may vary in color, size and appearance.

Received my creeping Charlie ahead of schedule. It was a limp, bruised specimen which was to be expected considering the distance it traveled and the 100 degree temperatures. It was carefully wrapped and I immediately stuck it in a glass of water to rehydrate. The before and after tell it all.

I was worried about the live plant being shipped. It arrived very healthy. I am so happy. I haven't been able to find a Swedish ivy locally.

Order this for a Mother’s Day gift. She was extremely happy with this. I have bought her one last year for a LOT more $$ and it showed up about dead. I will definitely be buy more from this business because they have better than described plants. They are very reasonable in the price’s especially for what you quality and size. I am definitely sold on this business and look forward to purchasing more from them. Saved this seller for sure.

My order shipped and was meant to arrive in two days initially. However, it was delayed and I wasn't sure when I would receive it (Amazon said it should arrive in 1 to 5 more days), so I was a little worried about the health of the plant. Luckily it arrived the next day, although I wasn't notified so it sat on my porch in its box for many hours. Upon opening, the plant was still in great shape and looks healthy! I gave it just a little water since the soil still seemed a bit moist. For the size of the plant, I think it was a little pricey but much easier than hunting down this specific plant in a store like Home Depot or Lowe's. Overall, very happy with this purchase!
