My Border Collies loves this ball, as do my Poodle and Cocker Spaniel! I bought two and they get carried around, tossed onto grass and patio concrete, bowled with, and generally done everything to it imaginable and they remain intact. The ball within a ball is a brilliant design concept. I wish I would have thought of it! The material is thick and no amount of chewing has broken it down. It cleans up easily with a swish is soapy water and spray of the hose.Great dog toy and a smart gift!!The holes make it easy to carry for an 15# dog and a 40 pounder!

I bought one of these at a store in our town and found it is a great dog toy that I had to buy another one and found it on Amazon. It's is a hard plastic, but is the most durable toy I have found. It keeps my aussiedoodle entertained for hours.

My two golden retrievers love this toy. We use it in the backyard. The size we bought was very big! They love chasing it, picking it up and rolling it. Best for outdoor play as this is a pretty hard toy that would bang into things. The dogs love it. Seems durable.

So one of my dogs loves this.. Like obsessed and will play with for hours. We have multiple all around the property. The last one we got had a caution about it wearing down teeth. It does! We still let her play with it in moderation, but just be aware. This is the reason for a 4 and not 5. They last forever!

This ball is the one that my pup plays with every day. I waited to see if it stood up to being flung about on hard floors. Apart from chasing it and rolling it about, he likes to fling it about for the noise. He likes to bring it over when I'm sitting at my desk to play footie. I'm careful with that as he can get his teeth into the holes to carry it about and I don't want him to get a tooth caught. When we get back from walks and he still has some pent up energy, he races around the yard with the ball in his mouth. So far, two months in, the ball is not showing any cracks in the plastic or chewing marks in the edges of the holes. Very good product.

My large dog loves these. I've had the 10 inch version for years. The larger one is hard to use indoors because it makes such a loud bang when it hits the wall. So far she seems to enjoy the smaller size one. The inner ball drives her crazy and she will play with the ball on her own.

My puppy loves this toy. For comparing purposes she is a 10 month old Red Heeler & is 28lbs, tall and lanky right now but will fill out as she gets older. She normally fits into the 'medium' category for dog sizes. I purchased the 8 inch ball because I think this will remain the best size for her as she gets bigger.Pros:*Hard, smooth, and bigger than most toy balls. Is not easily stopped when rolling, so when my pup tries to stop it with her paw she ends up making it shoot across the room for more chasing play.*Very durable - it is not plastic like a frisbee. Think more like PVC pipe. My pup is a strong chewer, and although she has made major indentions along the rim of one hole she can't break off any pieces to swallow (yet lol).*The ball inside the ball - I thought my pup would try to get the little ball out of the bigger ball but she doesn't. She does however, love the extra noise the small ball makes inside the big ball. She comes running if she hears me nudge the ball with my foot.*The size - I would guess it is about the size of a normal volleyball. What I love about this is that my dog can't roll it under the couch or furniture! Nothing grosses me out more than sticking my hand under the couch and blindly feeling through dust and who knows what for her lost ball or bone. At first, I thought she wouldn't be able to pick it up due to it being so big, but her mouth fits easily inside the holes and carries it around effortlessly.Cons: (insignificant cons, but still cons)*I will preface by saying this is not meant to be an inside toy, but we let our pup play with it inside anyway and just hope she doesn't damage anything. It's been over a month and no problems yet. But because the ball is so hard, it is extremely LOUD when used inside a house with hardwood floors. Even when it is rolling it is loud. But it is worth it to watch her have fun & the few possible dents we may have in our baseboards (I haven't noticed anything yet). Plus she has dropped it on my toe a few times when bringing it to me to throw :)Basically, it is a great toy for dogs that love to chew and chase, but not so much for dogs in close quarters or small dogs.

We purchased this toy on the recommendation of several acquaintances, one of whom claimed that their two labrador mixes loved this ball, and would spend hours just pushing it around by themselves, fascinated by the "ball-within-a-ball" concept. Since we have two dogs, one of whom is young, curious, and very playful, we were hoping, perhaps foolishly, that this would be a toy that would be able to keep him entertained, at least for a short while, whilst the human members of the household were attending to necessary chores, etc. We care about our dogs very much, but there are moments when we have to direct our attention towards other duties, which can be difficult with a very high energy dog.Since most dog toys are designed for the human and dog to play with together, and our doggy tears through bones in minutes and there are only so many treats one can give him in treat dispensing toys without overfeeding him, we were searching for a toy that would at least pique his curiosity long enough that it would be able to keep him occupied in those moments when we have to pay attention to something besides him. This was not that toy. For some reason, no matter how appealing we tried to make this toy, and no matter how much we "oooh"ed and "aaahh"ed over it to try to get the dogs interested, neither of our dogs (Labrador mix and Golden Retriever) wanted anything to do with this toy.Giving it three stars because the idea is a good one, and the construction is decent, the plastic it is made out of seems pretty sturdy and it would probably take a fair amount of chewing before a dog could completely destroy it. (The small ball inside is made of flimsier plastic, but it seems like it would be very difficult for a dog to get ahold of that to chew on.) It's a good concept for a dog toy, and it seems like other dogs like it from what we've heard, but be aware that your dog may simply not be interested, even if he or she is, like our dogs, very playful and happy to play with any other toy they are presented with.We were not able to "test drive" this toy in a pet store because none of our local pet stores carried the large size (10 inch) we needed since our dogs are large, but because our dogs typically will play with anything, we didn't really think it would be a problem. For reasons that are unclear, this is the only dog toy that our dogs have simply not wanted to play with.
