My kids consume fruit like there’s no tomorrow, so cutting up all their strawberries takes forever. Found this sweet little tool and it works like a dream. Makes slicing strawberries for salads/oatmeal/yogurt/snacks a breeze. Just be careful you don’t try and put too much pressure on the open end away from the hinge-make sure you are supporting the hinge when you close the contraption so you can make sure it won’t crack apart! Also- if you have an unusually large strawberry- best to cut it in fourths before sending it through the chopper! Enjoy sliced strawberries for days!

This is a great product for cutting strawberries when you’re trying to make a strawberry shortcake or decorating a top of a cake. The strawberry cutter cuts evenly and makes nice cuts. Easy to use and time saver.

I love the idea of this thing, but they just tend to break so easily. Maybe it's our kids who abuse them (our kids are addicted to strawberries), but they just don't seem to last very long. I think I'm just going to have to go back to using knives to slice strawberries.

I liked the quickness of the slicing process. It should be noted that oversized strawberries can damage the device.

This actually has blades instead of wire like so many other sliders. Very good.

Wow this is such a terrific tool for my toddler to help me in the kitchen. She loves being given a task and what better task is there than to slice her beloved strawberries? I was originally using an egg slicer for strawberries, which broke as soon as it met a winter strawberry. These blades are nice and strong and cut through the strawberries with ease. It's also a great tool to quickly slice strawberries when you're short on time (even without the toddler). This is a win win win.

If you don’t own one then I recommend you get one now. If you love strawberries this is a must to have. It is amazing. I made a strawberry Trifle and it was so easy to use and quick. No more having to try and slice the berries the same width it does it for you.I think this should be the numer one kitchen gadget of 2020. Did I mention it’s not a flimsy piece of plastic, it’s made sturdy it is made of plastic but it’s well made and heavy plastic. It has little rubber feet on the bottom so it want slide. I personally held mine to cut the berries. All I can say is just give it a try , I promise you will NOT be disappointed. Oh and by the way my Trifle was so delicious. Thank you.

Works extremely well with no crushing. Has 4 little silicon feet so it doesn't slide around. Initially I had a problem getting the slices out, but discovered that it works perfectly just to pick it up and shake it out over my bowl. I was able to slice a couple of pounds of strawberries in less time than it took to hull them! Easily cleaned as well. Fantastic.

I have to admit to liking kitchen gadgets, but when I first saw one of these I thought it was a little silly, I only bought because I did not have prime and I was bringing up my cart to enough for free shipping.Once I started using this, I wonder how I ever managed to get a quart of strawberries sliced before I owned one of these. It works well on small to large berries, the really large ones you will have to cut into a couple of pieces so they will fit in here. With this and the strawberry stem remover, I can prepare strawberries for shortcake in only a few minutes, and the mostly even slices make for a nicer looking presentation when I serve dessert. When chosing strawberries, I go by appearance first, and the aroma second, the strongerthe aroma of the berries, the better they will taste, and the less sugar needed to sweeten them. So if you see someone in the grocery "smelling" the strawberries, they are probablynot crazy. : )Just a note on the recipe, I had never seen strawberry shortcake on actual cake until I was in my 30'sMy mother always made strawberry shortcake on biscuits. My kids will probably never forget the daythat I saw Emeril Lagasse making strawberry shortcake on biscuits on his show and I shouted out tomy family "See, I'm not crazy!" : )I like strawberry shortcake on biscuits because the less sweet taste of the biscuits keeps the fresh fruit flavorof the berries from being overwhelmed by the taste of cake.My favorite shortcake:1 quart ripe strawberries.1 package Pillsbury Grands Honey Butter Biscuits2 to 4 teaspoons of sugar, brown, raw, or tableadjust level of sweetness to your taste, I useless of the sugar if I am adding the brown sugar.Real whipped cream. I usually use the refrigerated type in a can,for a lactose intolerant version use Cool Whip, thawed for about half an hour (see note at end)when preparing strawberries, I cut off any discolored areas, or any really mushy areaswith a paring knife once they have been washed and drained, and had the stems removed.Sometimes it is almost impossible to find almost perfect berries.I slice the strawberries directly into a medium sized mixing bowl, lightly sprinkle withsugar, mix gently with a spoon.Bake the biscuits according to package directionsLet the biscuits cool slightly after removing them from the oven.Split the biscuits in half, I generally use a total of 4 half biscuits per servingspoon the sliced sweetened berries over the biscuits and top with the whipped cream.Serve and enjoy! For toddlers and preschool age children, I break the biscuits into bite sized pieces andmix with some of the berries in a bowl and then top with the whipped cream.(note) I have gotten more lactose as I have gotten older, the Cool Whip is not as goodat least in my opinion, as the whipped cream, but if I am feeling a bit wild and crazyI mix the Cool Whipped and real whipped cream half and half for my serving, so I don'tenvy everyone that gets to eat theirs with real whipped so much
