There were some minor fit and finish issues with the set I got. The channel that the blade sits in on one wasn’t as smooth as it should have been and there were minor metal burrs in the way that needed to be filed down. The other issue was some pitting in the metal handle itself. While this wouldn’t bother a hobbyist, I do question how well this can be cleaned otherwise. The handled seems a little too angular for my tastes as the corners did dig a little into the fingers. I think I would have preferred a minor rounding off the edges for comfort but did still find these serviceable.

The blades fit perfectly on these handes, snapping into place easily and holding securely. I use scalpels for hobbies like modeling where the thinner blades can sometimes be better than normal hobby knives for certain applications. The last time I purchased a more expensive "name-brand" handle the blades wouldn't go on and I had to use needle files to modify the handle for the blades to fit. These handles worked fine right out of the box. A good value.

Ordered these to use in lieu of aluminum handled craft knives. They might not be as versatile as craft knives because they are only able to be used with scalpel blades but scalpel blades are much sharper than craft knife blades and your knife won't roll away every time you put it down. You need tweezers to attach and remove the blades but a small price to pay for a knife that doesn't need constant honing or blade changes because it dulls too quickly. Handle has good heft.

These scalpel handles work well with a variety of blades, and I used them with a 10R blade without any issues. The textured grip provides a secure hold, making precise cuts easier without straining my hand. Made from stainless steel, they are solid and durable, holding up well after multiple uses and sterilizations. The smooth edges and balanced weight contribute to comfortable handling, even during extended use. For the price, they are a good value, especially since they can be reused rather than replaced.
