I wanna give it 5 stars, it feels so nice. But it falls off a lot so I recommend tightening it really hard into the button

For those of us who are photographers, and who have cameras that have screw holes in their shutter release buttons (dependent upon brand), then you know that there are tons of these soft shutter release button styles out there. The lists of these are endless, so why purchase this JJC one?So why even purchase an after-market soft shutter release add-on? Well, they feel much more comfortable. As those of you with big (thick) fingers may have experienced, trying to depress a stock shutter button, whose top portion is flush with the camera body, may become frustrating. Screwing on one of these after-market buttons, raises the contact point, and initiating the shutter release becomes a cinch. These JJC versions have a thin rubber coating around the top portion, making these soft shutter release buttons more tactile feeling (comfortable), and your fingers won't slip off (if that's even a problem - perhaps for some in hot, sweaty weather). Now the inevitable question that arises is, "Are these soft shutter release buttons worth the almost $9 price each? Well, in my humble opinion...NO! After all, how many times can somebody invent a new mouse trap - it's just a simple design and yet it seems that every other month, somebody is releasing another design (which is still the same old design). These are Asian made and thus the economies of scale make these a dime a dozen - so why charge almost $9 each (that's 1000+% profit, considering what they cost to make, which is a few cents)? What makes these special, as I mentioned, is that they have a light rubber coating. I'd say charge no more than $2 - $4 each (you will still make a ton of profit because you will sell more) and forget about the fancy boxes - put them in a small zip lock bag. Now, here's a "beware" to Fuji camera photographers. Those of you with Fuji cameras (most Fuji models, but not necessarily all) should be careful when screwing on these after-market soft shutter release buttons. And why? Many of those shutter release buttons have very shallow screw shafts that don't allow you to screw after-market soft shutter releases all the way down. This results in a gap between the top of the camera's shutter button and the bottom portion of the after-market soft shutter release. In addition, Fuji cameras have been known to have less than ideal shutter button construction (internally - usually a thin all plastic design). There have been many cases (mine included) whereby the camera strap (with the camera sitting in a camera bag) can catch on that gap while pulling a camera out of a bag, thus ripping the entire shutter button out of the camera. When that occurs, it becomes a frustrating scenario to be sure and unfortunately, that requires you to send the camera back to Fuji for repair. And for older Fuji camera models, repair can no longer be initiated due to lack of parts. So out of the multitude of soft shutter release button styles, I'm giving these 5 stars because of the nice rubber feeling coating on them, but still - in my professional opinion, they are not worth almost $9.

It’s a small upgrade that makes a big difference. The black and red one looks especially nice on my black Fujica AX-5. The silver and black one on my Canon P rangefinder looks nice but I think it would look better if they found a way to give it a frosted/sandblasted look instead of being shiny. It would match most silver body cameras a little better. It’s also not an exact color match either. Looks to have some other metals in there like nickel. But it still looks nice. And most importantly, it makes clicking the shutter more comfortable and ergonomic, especially on my Fuji AX-5, which has a spongy feet to the shutter. The rubber pad on top of these is a nice touch and worth the price compared to the other ones available on Amazon that are just plain metal. I bought one for my Fuji X-T3 as well but I’ll be honest, I don’t really like the way it looks. It sits too high on the button and I end up gripping that when I turn the camera on and off. I’ll probably put it on another camera of mine instead.

Could be just a touch tighter, it doesn't bottom out on the threads. Overall it's a nicely made product and does make the shutter button more sensitive. It adds just a little color to an all black camera and enhances the retro look.

What is a "soft release" button? If you've never used one before, you might be ready for an eye-opener. You see, many cameras employ a shutter release button that works just fine, but is relatively small. This makes you have to push in a somewhat specific manner to engage the shutter and take the shot. What a soft release button like does is screw into the shutter release button (check your camera, and you might be surprised to see there is a screw hole in there you never noticed before, typically used for a cable-release mechanism) and thereby provide you with a much larger, and rounded, shutter release. This servers two functions. First, it makes the shutter much more comfortable to press because of the weight of your finger is now spread over a larger surface area. It instantaneously changes the shooting experience of most cameras. In fact, so much so that you scratch your head and wonder why these are not just normal accessories supplied with every camera! It makes pressing the button so much easier and more comfortable that once you start using one, you'll probably never want to go without one again! Its amazing how such a small addition to a camera can make such a difference in the "feel" of the shooting experience. But the second reason is that the soft-release button can actually help you take sharper photos. How, you might ask? Well, normally you press down on a shutter button, and that press slightly shakes the camera. The soft release button, however, because it is larger and rounder, allows you to engage the shutter with more of a ROLLING manner, where you roll your finger over the button rather than just push straight down. It takes a little bit of practice and you have to learn a new habit of shooting, but once you do, it can really be used to good advantage. This particular model is of good quality and looks nice, as well. Moreover, they provide two small rubber grommets so that you can put it under the screw (just one of them) so that it helps keep the button in place and not unscrew itself from use and fall off. (The fact that they provide two is really great.) And the price is really reasonable for what you get. I can highly recommend it.

These look even better on your camera than they do in the product photos. Get one! I'm very happy with mine. Not much else to say about this shutter button. Milled excellently--no burs or scuffs.
