Certainly not "real wood". It's real particle board thin junk. Hindge screws came pre-stripped and the corners were separated. Frame for the door was cracked and the only reason it stayed together is because of the clear plastic it was siliconed to. I read other reviews with the same problems. I thought I would get lucky. No way I want a replacement. Received it today, it goes back tomorrow.The best thing about this experience was how fast the refund was processed. I dropped it off at Ups and within minutes I received a full refund credited to my account. Makes you feel good about trying things from Amazon!

I was looking for a shadow box to display my boyfriends old letterman's jacket in our basement. This one has enough depth to hold the jacket plus I added some things at the bottom like his diploma and pins. The option of both hangers was great and eliminated the need to pin the packet to the backing. That said, the felt backing is pretty thin, so pinning directly into the back isn't going to be super easy if that is what you're looking for. You can put pins in at a very sharp angle and they will stay if what you are hanging isn't very heavy.

I am a very crafty person and generally do not have a bit of trouble creating things. This was a challenge! It took me 2+ hours to get a basketball jersey situated inside to where it looked good, not crooked, wrinkled and secured. I think the problem was the foam backboard--it is quite thin. Had I had the time, I would have gotten some quality foam core board to use instead. What came with it, is quite thin and the pins just do not fasten the article of clothing to it easily or securely. Thankfully, I had some decorative thumbtacks that I could use in addition to the pins that came in the case, and those worked well. I'd think I would have one side secured, and then when I'd start on the other side, that first side would come undone and the pins would pull out. It was quite frustrating until I used the thumbtacks I had in my crafting supplies.That being said--once completed, it looks very nice. The case itself seems quite sturdy, closes nicely with the option of locking it. The acrylic"glass" is OK, not super thick, but substantial enough, and it is clear and not warped or distorting. Overall I am pleased with the final project. Would get this case again, but would definitely get a better foam backboard to use instead and stick with nicer, heavier thumbtacks vs the straight pins.

I have had this for about 4-5 months now and have had no issues. At first I had an issue with getting it secured into the wall, but it has been sturdy up on my wall for the whole time that I have had it. Such a great addition to my room.

I purchased two shadow boxes to capture memories from my son’s baseball experiences.PROS* Arrive well protected with styrofoam inside and out* No assembly required* Very sturdy* Plenty of room for an adult sized jersey plus keepsakes (see photos - Jersey is an Adult Medium)* Comes with a hanger and hook inside the box* Excellent depth - deep enough to include baseballs in acrylic boxes and still be able to close the doorCONS* The black backing is hard - you cannot push pins into it to secure jerseys - this was a big disappointment to me.Two smaller points to note:* The shadow box is HEAVY. If hanging on a wall, you’ll want to use the included hardware and place strategically on your wall.* The small frame that comes with the shadow box does not have any glass or plexiglass in it - not a deal breaker, but good to know.

I was a little hesitant based off some of the reviews, however, I couldn’t be happier with what I received. The pinboard is a little flimsy but it gets the job done. The frame looks high quality, smells brand new, had a protective coating on the front glass, and was packaged very securely. I’m so glad I didn’t spend hundreds to get our jersey professionally framed. This looks just as a nice and for way less money. I would buy again.

first it didn't seem like this case had real "glass" - it was more of a tempered material - that being said, it shines like glass, and you can see through it like glass. I actually liked it as it made the whole frame less heavy and thus easier to hang. Installing the jersey was easy and the frame came with everything I needed. So glad I chose this one!
