We have used this JBL unit at outdoor functions and indoor funerals/gatherings and are very impressed with the quality and volume that it puts out. The battery life is incredible and we rarely struggle with feedback. Using the JBL mobile app gives full control remotely. In fact, it is easier to figure it out on the phone app than on the unit itself. We use a couple of Shure wireless mics powered by the USB port to give complete portability, no power supply is needed which adds to the convenience. The sound is on par with our larger Bose system.

Delivery on time. Perfect for small churches. We used it as Monitor in our church as well as brought with us when we go for outside program. Battery last too long that it had never ran out on us. Price is fair enough for the quality. Must have gadgets.

This worked fantastic the first week. I am using it to sing with my rock band. It's loud enough. It's great. It's very lightweight. It's simple to eQ. BUT THEN IT STOPPED producing sound. Now I cannot get any sound to come out. It's not broken. I have done all the troubleshooting necessary. It's some kind of defect with the way the program works in the unit. I get NO SOUND from any channel with my perfectly good mic and perfectly good cable. Scary.I never really needed the blutooth part of this, and I believe it is complicating the unit. I don't eed the sofware either. Just need a good loud PA to sing out of which compliments my voice.I am returning both units and continuing to shop for something else.

I am a big Bose fan, have the smaller portables, head phones, HT set ups etc. I wanted a loud Bluetooth speaker to use outdoors and in the garage. I originally just got the Bose, then got this one. Figured I would leave one in the garage and one in the truck for outdoor stuff. I looked at a ton of reviews and at the end of the day, the feedback was split on which is better. After having both, the one thing that I really didn’t appreciate was having a full EQ on the JBL. Out of the box the Bose sounds better but it does have that “Bose” filter on it. It sounds good but does sound like my other bose products. The JBL sounded weak in the mids and harsh on the high end, the bass also seemed to have a sharp drop past 150hz.With the full EQ, you can get this speaker to sound however you want and are not “take it or leave it” like you are with the bose. Want more mids? 5 seconds on the EQ and done. You can tailor the sound to however you want. Since this speaker also goes lower, the range is bigger also. Want it to be flat? Increase the EQ curve and done. I was playing with it for 5 minutes and got it sounding perfect. Also, the volume on this thing is very high 112dbs is no joke. I doubt anyone will ever get past 80% on this thing unless no one is sitting within 15ft.Long story short, get the JBL and tune it to whatever sound profile you prefer. I didn’t mess with the PA features, and I have no intent of playing instruments in my lifetime. From what I understand they are better on this unit though. Just wanted a very loud Bluetooth speaker, this unit checks that box for me.Ended up paying the restocking fee and grabbing a second JBL.

I'm an old musician, and this unit can be carried in one hand pretty easily (not even counting the nifty, expensive case I've avoided buying), rechargeable battery powered and is loud and clear as hell for most small gig situations.PROS: Superb size, weight and portability; can be configured as a monitor, main or on an optional speaker pole (can be run in stereo if you shell out for another one).- Interface with the JBL Android app works perfectly, not completely intuitive, but manageable.- Spotify runs great through it between sets.- Battery powered (BRING AN EXTRA PLUG JIC)- Cool Green lights glowing! Spooky...CONS:- Not especially intuitive to get started and very minimal support, even from the website's manual.- I've had weirdness in it holding charges, thus my suggestion to bring the power cord along; this may be operator error, however.- The green dials are indeed spooky, but setting them manually, as opposed to the phone app, is tricky, at best. Should have the option to more precisely control it right from the back of the unit.All in all, I would recommend this product to others

If your bass sounds lacking bump the eq a few dbs around 100 hertz with a wide parameter (low number).Learn the app. I was frustrated at first with the physical dials and seeing everything in the sunlight then got the app and it blew me away. It is easy to use for pros and feature rich compared to basic DSP on other speakers. It might not be as easy to use for a someone new to tuning their speakers. I highly suggest learning these features to make it sound how you want it.It likely doesn't have strong preamps to keep the price down per unit. I'm cool with that. Use it with an external mixer. They don't cost much. I use a Yamaha MGO6X (with a battery pack when needed for portability). It get great volume, and sounds incredible when paired with this speaker.I was debating between this, Maui 5 Go, and a Bose S1. I chose this because I can get 2 for nearly the price of a Maui 5 Go and have better stereo separation. A tripod is more stable on uneven ground and with wind. I can use it as an easy setup monitor for DJing, easily bring it anywhere with minimal setup and breaking down (the bag sold separately is also awesome and convenient). It also isn't multiple pieces like a column array. The Bose S1 sounds great but has much more limited low end (critical to a professional sound when playing music), doesn't get as loud, and distorts easier when played at high volumes for extended periods of time.For best sound quality use a wired (non-bluetooth connection) with two of these set to stereo. Bluetooth compresses the signal and limits the potential of sound quality and remember to start with great quality audio files (high quality MP3s, and lossless .wav, .aiff, or .flac when possible).

I'm an audiophile-- sound quality is most important to me.Tested a number of battery powered speakers and PA systems including Bose S1 pro, JBL PartyBox 100, 300, Ion Party Rocker etc before settling on this.What this is: A professional PA system for performers, MCs, Karaoke etc.What I use it for: Speaker for outdoor dancing events, with a cheap tablet for music & app control.Recommended for: Tinkerers with some understanding of audio equipment-- Effort & time is required.Not Recommended for: Anyone wanting a speaker to work perfectly right out of the box with zero effort (and there's nothing wrong with that).PROS:- Sound quality: LOUD, clean, crisp & clear-- it's louder and clearer than a lot of (older) pro equipment-- we ALWAYS compliments our music and how clear it is.- Build: Solid AF, good for the next 10 years or more.- Portability: Small enough to walk short distances using the handle- get a backpack for longer distances.- Bass: I'm a bass-head and this has all the bass you'll need and more-- Learn to use the speaker controls and app.- Bluetooth: Works extremely well. Great quality with no disconnection. Connect and forget about it.- Battery: Since winter 2020, I've used this 1-3x week for outdoor events up to 6 hours long for a crowd of up to 50ppl. Recharge immediately-- a little care goes a long way.- App: Packed with lots of features, effects and with full control of the equalizer and mixer.- No annoying lights!Cons:- Not waterproof, but splash proof- Weight & Portability: Weight and size is at lower end of portability. Backpack recommended for anyone not used to carrying awkward grocery bags on a regular basis.- App: Horrible interface, slow, un-intuitive, poorly designed.- Battery: As with all rechargeable batteries, cold weather can cause issues. One time it ran for less than an hour at -2C at at outdoor event. Otherwise its been good. Spares recommended in cold weather.- Price: Expensive-- try Amazon warehouse deals.- No sexy lights!Tips:- Install and learn to use the JBL app (take pleasure in pulling teeth!)- Learn to use the mixer in the JBL app- Learn how to use controls on the speaker -- gives you more bass than you need- Upgrade the firmware.- Aux and other physical inputs gives better audio quality that Bluetooth (if you pay attention)- Get a speaker stand & speaker cover for rainy days.Its direct competitor is the Bose S1 Pro compact. The JBL is ALWAYS better for DJs, music and & parties, the Bose *might* sound more natural sound out of the box-using the JBL mixer fixes this. Definitively has way better Bluetooth than the Bose and most party-speakers. Also, the JBL PartyBoxes reduce the bass output when on battery only-- which is not the case with the EON One compact.If you get this, Please take the time to learn how to use it.
