This product does lay out a fabulous copper plating. I think that I didn't clean my metal well enough, because when I polished part of my work, the copper plating sloughed right off. So clean and prepare your metal very carefully.It's straightforward and easy to use - very thrilling to see the copper seem to "paint right on".I am not complaining, and think that I will have lots of fun playing with this product in many future projects.

I bought this several months ago but until yesterday had not used. If you take the time to Polish the metal before use it gives a great copper coating in ten seconds.

These solutions are a waste of time, effort and money. They actually destroy the natural color of copper and leave a garish white residue when dried. Don’t waste your money or subject your project to it.

I made the mistake of using Mold Armor house cleaner without covering my copper lanterns and the house cleaner cut through the copper plating. This was my fault because the Mold Armor (which has worked wonderfully for house cleaning) did mention that it could discolor or pit metal objects. I was devastated because those copper lanterns are discontinued and retailed for over $350 each! Then, I found JAX Copper Plating Solution. It worked absolutely beautifully to replate the copper finish. My beautiful lanterns were saved!! I did use the finest steel wool pad to apply the replating solution and simply followed the directions. I cannot thank JAX enough for making this solution available to the homeowner. I rarely do reviews, but this was worth mentioning!
