No welding hoe head
The weldless hoe head is stronger and more stable than the welded hoe head.
The unique shape is better suited for digging trenches, with wide, right-angled shapes

Pin assembly
The long pin assembly method makes the hoe more firmly connected to the oak handle and less likely to loosen.
If there is any sign of looseness in the connection part of the hoe, you can use a hammer or other similar tool to knock down the pin while ensuring safety, which will extend the service life.

It’s a good size and weight for use in the garden. Functions well at cutting through grass and weeds. Probably a good value if the wedge was place differently. On mine it came chipped where the wedge had split the wood all the way past the head though only a it at the rear. I fixed with epoxy and a new modern wedge and it’s great with no safety issue but that issue should never have made it past QC.
