If your paint is really dried onto the plate, this paper will tear. However if you have just the right consistency for an acrylic paint pull it looks beautiful on this paper. One side has a texture and one is smooth. I found that using the smooth side down (towards paint) tears less. It pulls up most the paint and leaves your gelli plate clean for another pull.

I honestly had low expectations for this paper based on the reviews. Turns out, best deal ever, and I'm buying more. I simply used tape to adhere a sheet of the paper to cardstock, trimmed the edge (it's a bit larger than 8.5 x 11), and it printed beautifully through my HP inkjet printer. Plus, it has a nice texture - I haven't tried printing on the shiny side, as I prefer the matte look. Oh, and it shipped to me without any of the folds shown in previous previews. Give it a try #notanad :)

as a paper crafter the new trend is 'sumi' or 'rice papers'. the ones sold on the crafting channels run about $1 a sheet. there are some differences, like fiber content and sheen, but to get 100 for $5 that do the job was a WAHOO moment. it goes through my printer fine, dries like regular paper ( no smearing of ink ). for any crafter who thought about trying rice paper techniques but shied at the cost THIS is the way to go. fast delivery meant i could start projects right away. I would warn though to be careful using the adhesives. as rice paper it does bleed some when wet, and tear. nothing i wasnt expecting, just a heads up to beginner crafters. Great for decoupage projects as edges blend together nicely.

Picked this rice paper up for practicing calligraphy, seemed like a nice value until I used it. First let me mention that when it arrived the package was folded in half and the sides torn, thankfully no hard creases were left behind. One side of the paper is very smootj and the other textured. The main issue I had was my ink bled through the paper onto my desk, was not expecting that or the fuzzy letters due to bleeding ink.I will contine to use it for practice ir maybe tracing paper but certainly not for pieces I intend to share.

This thin rice paper clearly says FOR PRACTICING on it - this is not meant for final display artwork for high-end galleries. And that's all right! We all need to practice and test things out and most of us don't have the money to do that on expensive paper. This thin paper lets us practice our techniques, try out new styles, all on a paper which is reasonably responsive without breaking the bank.Perfect for all those practice sessions when you get a new brush or ink or so on and want to see how it does.If someone's going to complain that the paper isn't high-end museum quality paper, they didn't read the description very well.If there's any caveat here, it's that I ordered the paper with some batteries and Amazon just dumped the batteries into a box loose with the paper. So my paper came dented. Since it's practice paper I didn't care much, but still, be aware Amazon can do that to you. You might want to make sure you order JUST the paper and then wait a day or two to order anything else you want to get from them.

Size is good for practice. It does very thin though. Sometimes I used 2 pages of papers and thought I was using 1 page. So, double check it before start drawing. Happens twice to me now after 7 drawings. I need to double check frome now on.NOTE: one side is glossy smooth, and other side is little rough. Using the rough side. The papers is in notebook style, you use little force and it will come off.I think 100 pages will last my son for a while, since he uses 3 pages per class per week.
