If you're buying this than you probably have a Poseidon bike with mechanical disc brakes. Let me just say that this item was the wrong time of brake end - this one had a cylinder end stop vs the mushroom cap type that you need to use for the gravel bike shifters. That being said they worked perfectly fine on my Poseidon Redwood - the Advent X shifters had enough room in the lever to accommodate the larger cap.Installation was pretty straight forward and includes everything you need to install one set of front and rear brakes. The front and rear brake lines are not pre-cut so you have to measure twice/cut once - luckily there was more than enough cable length for both brakes.As far as performance goes - its a noticeable improvement to braking performance that i'd say it's good enough. It's probably not going to every throw you over the bars when you clamp down on the brifters but it will lock up the rear wheel. For the price of the kit i would take this over spending much more on hydro-mechanical disc calipers - you'd need both for these and the new calipers to work and at that point you're close to spending the same amount of money for hydraulic groupset.As far as why they work well it's hard to tell if it's actually the linear strands in the housing itself or if its because I removed all the stupid stoppers/connectors on the stock setup. The issue with poor performance on the stock setup seems to do with the amount of compression in the line that's not translating to the calipers themselves. Either way it's cheap enough that you should do this upgrade if nothing else.

This is not a review of the cables themselves, they're standard Jagwire quality. I was very happy that all of the packaging was made of materials that can go in mixed paper at the dump. I wish more companies had the health of the environment where their products will be used in mind when designing retail packaging (no one wants to ride a bike through a plastic strewn landscape).

These are clearly higher quality than standard cables and housing. Very easy to install and make a bit of a difference in braking response for mechanical brakes.

When looking for brake cable for my old school rebuild I just like the idea of that little bit of bling on the cable JAGWIRE 😀I know it sounds a little bit trivial but really what lies underneath is a well designed outer and inner cable and tiny fittings 😇You can actually feel the silky smooth sensation when you run your finger over the inner cable and if you have a regular one you can definitely feel the difference.I think it comes with a special coating for slippiness 😎I guess you could buy regular inner and outer cable from bike shops but I like the fact that JAGWIRE give you a little packet of small parts to finish off the job and make it look professional & neat 👌Like the little front and rear brake cable connector to keep them together & looking tidy plus other bits 😌And the outer cable ends are designed for special little fittings on each end with some feature called POP (POINT OF PRESSURE?)Design I think to increase the pull pressure.Now that means somebody's thinking 👍With my old school rebuild I had enough for one long cable for the rear and one short cable for the front and I had some leftover.So in the box you get one length of outer cable and a long length of inner cable and a shorter length of inner cable.I would say plenty for most bikes 🙂You know I haven't even ridden my old school rebuild yet but I'm riding on JAGWIRE's reputation ✌️😄

Used these on my newly built 90s retromod. These brakes, coupled with Deore V-brakes, feel hydraulic. Super strong braking power. Grab a fistful of front and you will be flying over your bars!

Entiendo que son unos simples cables para bicicleta... pero si andas bien en bicicleta, si es necesario unos cables buenos que si resbalen bien dentro del forro... pero bueno... ya es lujo... el panadero frena con el pie... totalmente recomendables... no te va a arrepentir si te gustan las cosas buenas....

I used it on my 70cc moped. The thing goes 45 and only has drum brakes. Stopping a 200-pound bike with a 200-pound man on it going 45 is an extreme task for any cable meant for a bike and has very serious consequences if it fails. This stuff is STRONG, and the cable housing bearly compresses under all that load. They have no corrosion after half a year of road use and still have little to no resistance. Highly recommend.

Je l'ai acheté pour remplacer le kit câbles de ma trottinette électrique. Malheureusement, les 3 mètres de gaine n'ont pas suffit, il manquait 30cm pour faire les deux freins. Malgré cet inconvénient, le câble et de la gaine sont de bonne qualité.

Converted my mountain bike to an e-bike and needed to update the brakes. The new brakes came with some cheap cable, so I upgraded to the Jagwire and man, what a difference. So smooth, you can really tell the difference in quality. One note, be sure to use proper bike cable cutters for these, using run of the mill wire cutters will leave you with a bit of a mess.
