The cables I received were not stock Rohloff cables, they did not have the removeable casings that are needed to correctly install the cables with Rohloff hubs. 0 stars as they are not useable

I am a BIG Rohloff fan, a BIG Speedhub freak. I've been running Speedhubs since 2001, and installed them on a total of 10 bikes. And I mention this all as qualifications for my saying, "I hate these cables."Now "hate" is a strong word, and in fact, Amazon's rating system equates their 1-star rating with "I Hate It." But I'm not that extreme. In fact, I'm even passing over 2-stars ("I Don't Like It") for the middle ground, "It's OK." Because, as much as I dislike Rohloff's cable, it does the job.But there are better choices. My own preference is simple QBP/Jagwire shifting cable paired with brake cable housing from the same brand. Note I do in fact mean **brake** and not "shift cable housing," because the Speedhub is internally indexed (i.e. not indexed at the shifter like almost everything else) and therefore doesn't need the relatively weak and stiff longitudinally-stranded shift cable housing. You'll note Rohloff ships similar spirally-wound brake-style housing. My problem with Rohloff's housing is the liner. Unlike just about everything else short of Nokon, the friction-fighting liner is a separate insertable/removable clear plastic tube. And it's fragile! One little crimp in this thing, and friction skyrockets. And if you've ever cabled up a Speedhub, you know how sensitive the shifting action is to tight bends, kinks, or anything other than the straightest run possible: resistance quickly builds up at the shifter, becoming thoroughly unenjoyable to twist.Once installed, I've had the inner liner work its way >through the ferrule on an interrupted housing setup (Rohloff recommends full length housing, which is all I do now).I want to be careful to say (again) that their housing, liner & cable can and does work, and is installed by Speedhub owners every day around the world. But my own opinion is it's unnecessarily complicated, especially when there is cheap, readily available off-the-shelf cable out there that does the job just fine.

Nothing exciting about cables and housing for a Rohloff shifter (or any other bike cable for that matter) The kit did arrive incomplete as one of the stainless cables was missing. Niagara Cycle was very helpful and immediately sent out the required cable so i could get my bike operational ASAP. I wasn't happy to receive an incomplete kit but did appreciate the service so I would reccomend Niagara Cycle as an excellent supplier of bike components
