Got these for my son who has been begging for a more expensive alternative. Figured we’d try these first since you can’t beat the price! They are great. Vibrant colors and they last a while. Highly recommend!!!

The SAKURA Cray-Pas Junior Artist Soft Oil pastels are perfect for young artists or beginners. They’re smooth and easy to blend, allowing for vibrant, rich colors. The texture is soft but not too crumbly, making them great for creating both detailed work and broader strokes. With a wide range of colors, they provide plenty of creative freedom, and they’re affordable, making them a great option for art projects at school or home.

this drawing was used in combination of pentel and mont marte pastels. The face and cat were done with pentel. Pentel has a wider range of colors and the pastel layers “dry” fast ( compared to mon marte )which allows easier blending. The two brands aren’t super compatible blending wise unless you layer pentel first. The mont marte pastels are softer so when you try to draw on top of it with something harder like pentel you won’t get good results unless you wait for the layer to “dry”. The dress was done with mont marte because it wasn’t required to get as much detail from layering and the fact the pastels are larger so you’ll be able to cover more ground. The pentel pastels were useful for the detailed portions and areas that require a lot of layering. 100% recommend. The pastels break easily so I end up buying more product but the price point is very good. It’s fun to use I guess when there are no deadlines for art commissions.

These are not top-of-the-line oil pastels but they are great for the price. The sticks are small/thin.. about the size of a crayon but not as long. They do apply color smoothly but smudging was a bit harder to do. I prefer a different brand but bought these because of the price. This is one of those, "You get what you pay for."It's affordable. It gets the job done. You could probably find better quality but these are functional and perfect for a young artist.

Really buildable and they blend very well. However, I recommend getting a more opaque white pastel, like the sennelier white, for example.

Quindi molto soddisfatta dell'acquisto:)
