I really tried to find something I didn't like about this guitar and the only thing I could come up with is the strings were terrible and the fingerboard needed conditioning, easy fix. The build quality is amazing with it's flame maple cap and neck thru design. The Wilkenson tremolo was set darn near perfect except for intonation it might have been set for the stock strings but not for my Ernie Ball Super Slinky's. The tremolo zeros back every time and the tuners seem to do a very good job. The pickups were adjusted evenly and sound very good. The pots and pickup selector all work smooth and do what they should. The neck feels very comfortable and the frets could maybe use a polishing but are not to bad at all. This guitar is a cross between my Schecter C-1 Classic and my Carvin DC-400 both much more expensive guitars but beautiful builds. This is my third IYV guitar and by far the nicest. I am highly impressed with IYV and question how they can put out something this nice at this price. We are living in good times. After a couple of days playing on this guitar I wouldn't think twice about gigging with it. Cork sniffers beware!

The neck through guitar body&neck, the finish, the awesome Wilkinson bridge and the perfect cut bone nut are the highlights. The rest of the components aren't anything to write home about.I've upgraded the rest and now have an awesome guitar which would rival a good PRS or something along those lines.

Neck thru is great for tuning stability, sustain and upper fret hand comfort from the contouring. I leveled and polished the frets and also smoothed the finish on the back of the neck which makes it a dream to play. This guitar feels like a cross between my PRS Mark Holcomb and my Jericho NT (neck through) Elite Six, both wonderful guitars. You will be amazed at what you get for the price with this guitar.

When I bought this guitar over two months ago, it had 3 issues coming out of the box. The tone control wasn't wired correctly and acted as a volume. The truss rod cover screw wasn't centered, so the ugly hole for truss rod access ( and I mean looks like an angry teenager hacked through the finish with a chisel) was peaking around the cover just a touch. The nut slots were just about the perfect height, but the nut isn't as wide as the slot for the nut in the headstock, and the nut is too tall, so the strings are deep in the nut.None of the flaws were egregious if you're willing to leave the tone on 10. I hadn't seen any other complaints about the tone being mis-wired, so I guess I'm just lucky. Out of the box, I lowered the action and intonated , and bam, it's my go to guitar that sits next to my chair, but if you're not comfortable with setting up a guitar, then pay a good technician to do it. I know that seems counter intuitive. Pay 50-100 dollars to set up a 200 dollar guitar, but trust me here. The results are spectacular. That being said, if you're unwilling to do a setup or have one done, keep looking. I'd recommend going to a shop where they make sure the floor models are playable.First, let me say, that it's a gorgeous guitar. The flame maple cap ( Yes CAP, not veneer. 3/4 inches in the middle down to 1/4" on the edges.) looks amazing. They left the maple on the edge natural and it mimics binding around the body. This is a beautiful effect, and shows off the maple cap nicely. My guitar has fewer finish flaws than the one pictured on the Amazon ad. There's a slight drip on the underside of the headstock below the low E tuner. You can't see it, but you can feel it.The neck through design is just amazing. I've seen one claim that it's a fake neck through, but that's just not the case. The paint on the back is a translucent tobacco brown, and you can follow the 7 piece walnut and maple lamination all the way through the body. I've had the control cavities open and it's definitely as advertised. The neck on this guitar was nearly perfect. I can find a few small (tiny) gaps in the inlays. Nothing that triggered my OCD. The work feels smooth and the neck is comfortable. The logo on my version is a abalone looking material. It's much prettier than the white logo that I've seen in some pictures here. This leads me to believe that tweaks are happening as the runs are being put out. The fretwork on the ends is smooth, and I had 2 that I filed up a bit. They weren't very bad at all, but they stood out to me against the sweetness that were the rest. It took about five seconds with the equivalent of a nail file to make them match. There was a bit of scratchiness when bending at first, and I was all ready to polish them up, but after 2 months of play, I can't feel any of that anymore. The fretboard did require some lemon oil. It came thirsty, but darkened up beautifully with just a little care. The point where the neck meets the body is as comfortable a transition as I've ever had on a guitar. The pickups are good. I find them clear and responsive. There's no reason for me to change them out. I'd only swap them if you were looking for something specific. The switch is crisp and working great so far. The pots were the typical dime size pots, but I didn't have any issues with the quality before I swapped them out. The Wilkinson bridge is a good quality tremolo with a nice large block. I haven't had any issues with the pickup rings mentioned by others in some reviews.I've seen this in reviews, so I thought I'd mention that there is the odd bit of polish residing in cavities and cracks, but that's easy enough to wipe off.The only thing this guitar NEEDED was a setup, and a resolder on the tone knob. I have made a few changes, because that's what I do, and I still haven't hit 300 dollars U.S. for what's now a nearly perfect instrument. I did buy it on sale for $205 originally. My upgrades so far are:1. PRS amber knobs, (because they're pretty), which required imperial measurement pots, so CTS full size pots, which means I've wired the tone knob correctly now. The chrome nobs were fine, although, to keep them from dragging the body and leaving a scratch, I would put a tiny piece of paper down the shaft hole to raise it off the body slightly.2. Filling and redrilling the truss rod cover, and replacing the screw with a smaller black one. Sounds harder than it was. A toothpick and some wood glue then drill a new pilot hole. I added gaff tape to the back of the cover, because when I went to the smaller screw, the truss rod cover would rattle as that style tends to do when the truss cover is plastic.3. Grover 205C tuners, because although the tuners are serviceable, but the difference was well worth it. They're a direct drop in.4. Black Tusq nut. I actually haven't put the new nut on yet, but that's the next step. Obviously, it's not pressing, they put a quality bone nut on the guitar, and I toyed with the idea of reshaping it a bit, but it's just something I usually do to all my guitars.I don't do many reviews, but this product seemed well worth the effort to jot down a few thoughts.

First off, I’m an IYV fanboy. This is my 3rd.Reason for only 3 stars.Neck had a major back bow. If it wasn’t for the fact it has a dual action truss rod, this guitar would have been unplayable. The fret work is average, at best. Sharp ends, and rough scratchy frets. The finger board was covered in polishing compound. The nut slots were very deep. I had to file the top the nut down. The slot height to the frets was perfect though. If I wasn’t capable of fixing all these problems, the guitar would be unplayable.I would have had to pay a fair amount of money to get it. In playable condition.I still have some more work to do. Hopefully it’s simple, easy stuff to do.Edit:I forgot to mention that the tremolo cover was super tightly fit. It was bowing out from it's recess. When I removed the cover a half dime size piece of the finish broke off. No idea where it flew off to.The control cover was tight as well, not as bad the the tremolo cover.Today I went to install the tremolo arm into the bridge, and it is the incorrect arm.i decided to return the guitar, just too many issues. Such a beautiful guitar.

[Review from March, 13, 2023]I re-ordered the guitar but not without hesitation after the previous experience. But Amazon return policy has always come through on products that did not meet expectations, so I went ahead and ordered it, and am glad I did.One look out of the box, and I knew this was going to be a keeper. Well-presented with no nicks or dings. The guitar was beautifully resonant unplugged. The bone nut is cut well, heck they even rounded the edges - very good attention to detail. The action on the guitar was a hair over 0.07 on the low E, and 0.06 on the high E and 0 high frets, or sharp frets. The guitar needed no truss rod adjustments, and above all else - it actually came in with a floating bridge set up - wow (see pic)! The only adjustment I had to do was to lower the bridge a half-turn to get the action around 0.06 (E) and 0.05 (e).The dry fretboard needed a generous application of lemon oil and it came to life after that. The fret wires were a touch gritty out of the box, but I suspect that had to do with the cheap factory strings on it. I replaced the strings with a set of 9s, and in the process polished the fretwires with 1200, 2000, 3000 grit sandpapers and some 0000 steel wool for the finishing touch. Yep, that did the trick. The tuners sadly still have very small outpots and will need to be replaced. But I did get the guitar when it went on sale, so I'll use the savings towards a set of locking tuners - this guitar is well worth it.The pots are smaller Samsung ones and do the job. The pickups are DNC Destiny - they're great for clean and for playing with mild overdrive, which is how I prefer to play anyway. I find that they lose some articulation with high gain/distortion, but that is not really a concern for me.All in all, this IYV guitar has earned my 5-stars. The previous review was a 3-star review, and in averaging them out, I give it 4-stars. After 5 buys, and 3 returns, I have to come to realize that with IYV guitars, it really is a question of the exact guitar you end up receiving.[Review from Oct 3, 2022]The pros:A well-cut, and well placed bone nut, smoothened fret wire ends, 0 dead frets among many things that would make this a great purchase, except for the cons noted below. The cons:The fret wires are rough, and definitely need polishing. And there are a couple of scratches on the body and the neck. All of these are non-issues since they don't affect the playability or tuning stability of the guitar. The dealbreaker are the tuners - the outposts are so short that you can't even get 2 complete winds of the lower strings. The A-string actually has criss-crossed over (see pic). And this is how it arrived in the box with the green "QC Passed" sticker on the back. Seriously? The tuners need to be replaced, and to throw in another $50 worth of upgrade just to make it playable basically renders this a non-bargain of a guitar.IYV had it so close in every other aspect of this guitar.

this will be an honest and not paid review. all I can say with this guitar is, it is not perfect but worth to try. upon opening the box I already seen the flows. 1. they file the nut too deep that causing dead notes on open E6 strings.2. Strings is bad quality, 3. action is not properly set up it is high. 4. not intonate properly 5. the 22 fret is too high that when you use E1 string start from the 18th fret will produced dead notes. however, having said that. the guitar has many good points to consider. 1. very solid body 2. Fret are smooth 3. beautiful paint and design 4. pick up is not bad. warmth and clear even in high gain pedal. 5. this guitar screams! 6. tuner is good.my take on this is, yes it is not perfect and need some attention but for the price I paid, ($343) compared to $3K plus PRS. worth to buy it and add to my collections. if you don't know how to set up your own guitar, bring it to guitar tech and you will be very happy to have one of this. thanks for reading my review.

This Neck-Through design is really nice. I added some photos so you can see how great this guitar looks, and mine was almost perfect, set up nicely as well. All I had to do was tune it.I was pleasantly surprised the neck felt smaller/thinner compared to Gretsch Electromatic, Telecaster or Epiphone LP ... and when I measured, (Compared to the Les Paul) the difference is 0.3mm in depth at the 12th Fret. Width is 42.6mm at the nut and 51.1mm at the 12th fret. Les Paul is 42.6mm at the nut and 52mm at the 12th fret. So the Les Paul gets much fatter compared to this IP-300 guitar to the 12th and beyond. I have never owned a PRS or Copy of a PRS, or a Neck through design - so maybe this is common and those of you who know more about guitar neck profiles won't be surprised - but there it is - and I like it.
