I picked this up to use for holding UV lights when I'm collecting insects. I tried another brand and it was short and ended up falling over under its' own weight. This IV pole is what I should have got the first time. It has metal tube construction with three outer tubes and 3 inner tubes that let you collapse it down to about 4 ft tall or extend to a little over 7 feet tall. The legs are a lot more sturdy than the other one I tried and it stays vertical without leaning.I will say it does have a bit of a wobble to it, so don't expect it to be completely stationary, but it's the tradeoff for having something that's actually portable. A regular IV stand would have a broad heavy base that makes it about impossible to move from one location to another, while this thing collapses down to a 4 ft (or shorter if you want to take out sections of tubing) cylinder that can easily be carried with one hand. In my case if I need a little more stability I'll just use tent stakes to fasten it to the ground.

I’ve been using this IV pole for a while now, and it’s been great. The stainless steel design feels durable and well-made. Adjusting the height is easy, and the telescopic extension works smoothly without any hassle. It holds multiple IV bags with ease and stays steady the whole time. The tripod base is reliable and works well on different types of flooring. It’s portable but doesn’t feel flimsy, which is exactly what I was looking for. For the price, it’s definitely a great deal considering the quality and how well it performs.
