The item is made in India and appears to be of lesser quality than other valves made in the USA.

In order for this to have come from factory out of box at the stated 12psi, my Burnham boiler's gauge would have to read 8+ in error, as well as my relief valve faulty spewing 8 psi over the stated 30 on the Watts label. Both outstanding track record, but so is B&G.Because of a couple still lingering leaks after my pipefitting forray, I know I'm introducing new water into the closed hydronic system. I re-read instructions that the valve behind this FB-38 filler is supposed to be closed so it did normalize. So when pressure dropped to 8 psi cold, I opened the valve again and heard the water coming in (city supply is about 33psi) and watched a couple minutes pass as the boiler's gauged jumped to about 18psi.I'm tempted to turn the adjuster screw (don't set below 10 say instructions) for lower pressure, but am at the mercy of my gauge. If this did indeed come set at above 12 from factory this is a major oversight in quality-control. I'm pretty sharp at learning self-sufficiency and most should have a pro install I guess, but if someone thought it was at 12 and it was higher...Come Spring I may drain system again and revisit some things, including an inline gauge in the system to verify the boiler's gauge, just to be certain.

My old valve was 5+ yrs. old...corroded & screen was rusted through...also had a small leak. This new valve was a perfect fit...easy to install & works perfect.

Good water pressure reducing valve. It says it is preset to 12 psi, but my income pressure was 50 psi and it only reduced the income to 25 psi. I am at 7000 ft and I do not know if that was why the pressure was higher than 12 psi. I was able to adjust the pressure to 15 psi for my boiler heating system and it is working fine after the adjustment.

The standard in pressure reducing valves for boilers (hydronic heat). The handle on top is a quick fill often used for bleeding pipes. They usually last a decent period of time.

This valve replaced the exact part in my heating system. It comes with instructions that are very helpful for troubleshooting the valve. I wish I had the instructions from this unit before I bought it. I could have probably saved the time of cutting the old pipe and sweating in a new one by just replacing the screen filter. My old unit was probably 20 years old so I don't regret replacing it. If you are not a serious DIY'er, have a professional replace this part. If you put it in wrong, the consequences could be really bad. Too high of pressure in a boiler is a recipe for disaster.

This is a widely used PRV . The factory settings are standards and are easily adjustable for different settings. I was making major changes to my system and needed the fast fill feature to fill the larger capacity radiators I installed in my system. The valve is a quality built and precise metering device. Bell and Gossett is a very old and distinguished company in this business and this product is an example of Bell and Gossett quality.. The price is quite fair in my opinion...

Item came as described and replaced the exact part in my system as I rebuilt. Not sure if older part was good or bad, but it was replaced and this item appears to works well. I did not adjust, just slapped it into the system and off I went.
