The IST WR-3 is the ultimate underwater writing tool for dive instructors, tech divers, wreck and cave explorers, swim and dive coaches—or anyone who needs more writing space than a standard single-surface slate. Whether you're mapping underwater terrain, taking detailed notes on a wreck, or tracking student performance, the WR-3 gives you the surface area you need without sacrificing convenience. Its patent-pending design features three layered slates connected by an elastic-band hinge system, creating five total writing surfaces. Each layer lifts easily using a large tab, snapping securely into place with elastic bands at each end. When finished, simply flip the layer back down—no fumbling, even with gloves on. The WR-3 includes a pencil secured with a stretchy plastic coil and stored in a built-in sleeve on the bottom layer. Made from high-visibility neon yellow plastic, the slate and its accessories are easy to spot, even in low-visibility waters. A curved shape and adjustable hook-and-loop strap make it easy to wear the slate comfortably on your arm during dives.

Nice product, good construction, would like to see lines on one of the slates.

You can pay more, but there is no need to. I like that it came with extra O-rings, just in case the ones on it get lost, broken, or stretched out.

I tried to use this scuba diving - it's basically a one-time-use throwaway item. You can't erase the markings from the included pencil thoroughly, and I've tried several ways. It's hard to make the strap stay in one place on your arm, even over a sticky wetsuit. I would not recommend this item to anyone.

I tested this dive slate in my last diving this month. It really works as it is easy to take note, the writing does not erase with the water and is clear to read. The velcro arm look a little big to my arm, anyway, I worked the way to keep steady on the arm.

it's cheap and so i dont feel too cheated, but there are some major flaws in this design. 1) there is no good way to erase what you've written, even underwater. 2) the o-rings used to hold the 3 slates together does not hold very well, so every time i moved my arm underwater the top 2 slates opened up and really got in the way. 3) the velco band is way too big to hold it onto your arm (and i've quite a large guy). i ended up having to tie it to my arm so it wouldn't fall off, and i had to put it on in the water cause it would slip off every time i entered the water. i would not recommend this product

The product itself is excellent and exactly as described. The Dive Master who received my slate is thrilled with it.My husband said it looked like the arm control panel from Buzz Lightyear. It did, kinda, but that didn't bother me.The reason I gave it away is because it was way too big for me. Even adjusting the strap and positioning it higher on my forearm didn't help. I could have worn it on my calf, I guess, but then it wouldn't really be accessible. :PLoved the idea, but in practicality, you need to have really well-built arms to keep it on comfortably. I'd say this is a "man's fit".(For reference sake, I'm not that tiny. 5'4" and 150lbs.)
