I don’t think Isabey makes this brush any longer ( they have redesigned their brush line and discontinued some of their legacy products), so I was excited to find this sable travel brush in size 6. It performs exquisitely as expected for an Isabey sable and their high standards.

And with several hairs out of place but thought it might be nice after it’s been wet. This was my first sable and I was quite excited. I’d also heard good things about this brands ability to hold a point. I was surprised to find it held no point and was surprisingly hard to work with. Maybe this one is a reject? I was unable to make even a basic leaf shape. In the picture you can see the mark it makes vs a plain old Princeton Neptune. Rounds with no point have their place but that’s not what I got this for. I will be returning it.

Very good brush. Hold Watercolor and brush produces fine lines too.

Great brush, I still pick up my silver travel brush more often. This one picks up more water though. If I could redo things over I would have just gone with a bigger size

The brush was much smaller than I expected for a #6. I guess travel brushes are sized differently for studio brushes. The hairs are about 1/2" long. The point is very sharp as expected in a sable brush.

Excellent travel brush! You can't go wrong with this brush! Holds water beautifully and comes to a perfect point.

Well made brush, lid fits tightly when posted on the back. It's a European design, so smaller that an American/British sized No. 6 round would be, but perfect for smaller hands and for fitting into cases where something like a DaVinci maestro travel brush no. 6 would be too bulky.

These are simply the best natural hair travel watercolor brushes available for sale in the US. The tip is perfectly shaped, soft but springy (the "flick" works perfectly), and holds a ton of water. The Escoda travel series is way too thick, the silver brushes are too synthetic, the da vinci series of travel brushes are constructed from a hideous plastic cylinder. I can't compare to connoiseur brushes, which are twice as expensive, or Rosemary & Co., which are not available on amazon.com. Overall, this (#6) is my absolute top favorite brush to paint with, and one of the least expensive as well. Five star product
