I've had this on my 8.5 year old xbox one for about 3 months. I have to say that this has been keeping my console a lot cooler than it normally would be. Since this fan pulls additional air through the console, it is much cooler than normal. I used be able to hold my hand on top of the console and feel how hot it was getting. Now it doesn't feel as hot. I can't speak to durability or longevity, but so far, this is good.

Bought this because my xbox overheats and makes games crash. This thing has made a world and a half of difference. My console actually stays cooler than it did when it was brand new 10 years or so ago. I'm very impressed and very happy with my purchase. My advice is that if you think your console will benefit from this, then don't wait as long as I did to buy one. I wish I'd have done this sooner. And the few reviews mentioning the noise level, I don't even hear this thing. At all, the only reason I know it's on is because I feel the air movement when I put my hand near the outlet.

My Xbox kept on turning off by itself because of overheating--2017 edition, about 5 years old. After checking to make sure there was no dust accumulation inside, took a chance on this. 5 stars. Works excellent and quiet--read about noise in some reviews and was wary, but price was reasonable enough to try. Highly-recommended! Played all weekend, no auto-shutoff happened at all with this on. I love how cable is just enough to plug into back USB socket of console, and fits on top of console without looking fugly.

I have had it hooked up and running for about a week now. Easy to plug and play. It is only for the Xbox on. It turns on automatically when the console gets to a set temp and then will turn off when it cools down. It is pretty quiet to which is another plus. My Xbox one is performing much better now and stays cool to the touch, where as before she would be pretty warm even in the open space it is in. Would highly recommend. We use the X1 for all entertainment since we quit satellite tv years ago. She stays on pretty much all day and is used for streaming such as Disney, Netflix, and Hulu. Games played are usually AC Valhalla, Skyrim, Call of Duty, Diablo III, and more. So she gets worked pretty well and with the cooling fan it is a whole different console.

Works well now. Had a knock on startup that was annoying. I opened it up as it was doing my head in and found a bit of flash from one of the casting ejector pins sitting up from the bottom plate. This is what the fan knocks on until it pulls itself up. Shaved it off with a knife and now it runs pretty quiet. Only noise is in a quiet room you can hear the rush of air.

I had a problem with my Xbox overheating and shutting off, and so I couldn't play any video games for too long without having to give the console a break. Now, I've got the external fan and it's cooling my Xbox quickly and efficiently! The only downside is finding the right spot to place the fan because it isn't as big as the area the top of the Xbox vent area. I placed mine over the center, where I could feel the hot air the most, and it went to work right away! If I could do 4.5 stars, I would, because that is the ONLY downside! It's simple to hook up and place, and doesn't really take but a second to do.

I always thought that the original Xbox one was a horribly underpowered machine, turns out that is not the case at all.I began looking into this because I was afking in gta v and all too often, I woke up only to find the game had crashed. I suspected overheating might be playing a role so I aimed a fan directly at the console, and like magic, it stopped crashing. Turns out that the cooling fans inside the console are abysmal and this does a fantastic job of sucking air through and blowing hot air away. At this point, if you have found this attachment and gotten this far into my review, then you already know that you need this. So I found this inexpensive fan attachment that fits beautifully on the xbone. And I immediately notice massive performance increases frames chop less, load times are significantly reduced, and it is oh so quiet. When it first arrived I noticed what I could only describe as chirping like a bird, very very faint but it was definitely there. What you want to do is take out all the screws from the bottom, and very carefully release the clips from either side (very obvious where the clip is). Once you manage to get inside this thing all you need to do is follow the wire underneath the sticker. Peel it back and there is a nice little reservoir about 2mm deep and the size of a screw head. Here what you want to do is carefully place a drop of grease right inside. You can see where the fan fixes to the housing if you spin the fan it spins. Then put everything back the way you found it and you're done. If yours doesn't chirp in any way and you also don't have the tools to more easily get inside(properly sized bits and abrasion resistant "spatulas" to pry it open) then maybe don't do it. It is not a whole lot quieter beyond the chirp, however, it is quieter and possibly better off for having been lubed. They definitely don't intend for you to get in and out of this thing all the time, but with a little determination, it can be done.Update: I've owned this for several months now with no regrets. I have since replaced the thermal paste on my Xbox and combined with this fan, the air moving out of my Xbox is significantly cooler. (my factory paste had a big air bubble in it, which probably contributed to its awful cooling) Also worth noting that all the air is directed out the front and away from the console. If you don't have the desire or confidence to crack your console open, this fan alone should solve your overheating problems. Also since greasing the fan it hasn't caused and unforeseen problems and still very quiet if that concerned you.
