I set it up on the edge of my uncovered patio about a foot away from the grass to protect from the lawn mower. Easy to set up. I should have done a better job of making the bottom flat. I added the chairs just to help protect. The quality is very good. My 7 and 5 year old kick off the sidewalks and it does not rip. Sometimes they jump from the white poles and it holds up fine. I wouldn’t allow any heavier kids to do that. The foot of space from the grass was enough to set the pump and hoses down. I bought the intex cover, net, and vacuum hose attachment. The cover doesn’t work as well as I’d hoped as it is not tight. It sags when it gets hot, too. The net and vacuum are a must. The pump runs once a day at the same time you originally turned it on. Only needs 4 hours a day. Very quiet. My 7 and 5 year old don’t need a ladder but it would be nice. I fill it to 24 inches at the “deep end” as my patio slopes down away from the house. You don’t want the birds to be able to sit at the edge and dip their beaks. I do a deep clean once a week where I add a new tablet, use the vacuum attachment, clean the filter with a hose. Takes an hour. The pool has given new purpose to my back yard. It doesn’t matter how hot it is outside. They can go outside and jump in.Pool with pump, net, vacuum, cover, and tablets and I’m under $300. I will have to eventually buy more tablets and I’m considering getting the 1000 gph pump with skimmer but this thing is so low maintenance I’d be doing more out of intrigue. Plus the skimmer hangs on the edge and takes pool space away. We’ll see. Fun easy little project, kids love it, 4 adults fit easy, low maintenance.

I bought this to replace my 8’ pool. This pool is exactly what I wanted! Perfect size for my patio and took half hour to set up. I love the look of it and it is much more durable than the one I had with the blow up ring.

Setting this pool up required no tools. You only need a little common sense and patience. I recommend reading through the assembly instructions completely one time before starting. Especially follow the directions on putting the frame together. It looks like it won't fit but if you make sure each preceding section is tightly pushed together it fits perfectly.Put the pool on the most level spot you can find. Even the slightest bit of slope can be an issue, especially when the kids start splashing around. The pump that ships with the pool is adequate for the pool; however, you should buy additional filters. If you have good water pressure, it's no problem to rinse most of the accumulated debris out of the filter several times before replacing it with a new one. We've been using the same filter for about 2 weeks. It has been cleaned every 2-3 days and I have replacement filters ordered. You'll know it's time to service the filter when the volume of water coming back into the pool is low. The schedule for servicing the filter will depend on how clean your water source is, how much debris has gotten into the pool in use, or how many leaves etc. drop into the pool. I strongly suggest using a cover on the pool when not in use. Even using city water we had to clean our filter by the second day of use because of the low return-water pressure.A note on the filter. This is a portable system. When you install or change the filter, air will get into the pump. The pump will not pump air. Turn the pump on and lift the hoses higher than the pump to allow the air to escape the pump chamber through the hose so the pump fills with water again. You may even need to reposition the pump to allow the air to escape through the hose. One caution on chlorine. A normal 3-inch chlorine tablet is designed to treat 10,000 gallons of water. This 10' x 30" pool holds a maximum of 1,500 gallons when filled to the brim. I estimate I have about 1,200 gallons in our pool at roughly 24” depth. It’s easy to over chlorinate the water, which will cause discomfort for swimmers and shorten equipment life.Additional equipment you may need includes filters, water testing/treatment kit, ladder and skimmer. If the pool is installed on a hard surface, you'll probably want a mat to go under to pool. I used artificial grass carpet from a local store.

I almost never write reviews but in this case, when I am so pleased with a product, I feel compelled. I have four children who love to swim. They are 1, 4, 7 and 10. They know how to swim (except the one year old) but I don't feel comfortable letting them in a pool that is over there heads without myself or wife in it. Problem is, they would be in the water all day, and I'm not always in the mood! This pool was the perfect compromise! At only 30" deep they can all stand up in it and at 12' round its big! They don't realize it's a kids pool. To them it's like a 54" above ground pool would be for an adult. They are in it all day every day and I don't have to be in there with them. here are some pros and cons and some recommendations.Pros:Assemble is sooo easy. Took me a half hour. As with any pool it should be on level ground. I didn't have a perfectly level spot in my yard so I set it up as level as possible and it's fine.(water is a little higher on one side, no biggy) I wasn't about to level the yard for a pool that I didn't know anything about. Next year I will!Because of its size you can take it down and store it for the winter and not have to worry about winterizingPerfect size for kids! They can send up and swim! The frame is strong! We didn't get a ladder. The kids hop over the side. They can hand and sit on it. It's very strong!Because of its size, it warms up pretty quick, about a day after filling to get to a good temp. The liner is thick. Not sure what the mil size is but it feels heavy.Cons:The filter! I've seen bigger filters on fish tanks! It uses a cartridge that has to be cleaned often and it doesn't flow much.No skimmer. The filter will clean the water(eventually) but will not remove debris from the top of the water.Water quality can go downhill quick! This could be partially my fault for not monitoring the water as often as I should but after it rains, if it's in direct sunlight often or if you have a lot of people in it, the chlorine levels can drop and it can go green real fast.My recommendationsAlong with the pool you will need a skimming net, a vaccuum that works with a garden hose, water test kit, the solar cover, a chlorine floating dispenser, quick dissolving chlorine tabs, and I would highly recommend getting the sand master 71225 filter and the index skimmer. The filter is so powerful it creates a small whirlpool which causes any debris on the floor to collect in the middle of the poll which makes it easy to vacuum up. Plus it's rated for 9000 gallons and is super easy to clean. Just flip the valve to backwash and your done! You'll end up spending about another $200 with these upgrades but totally worth it! Keep the filter running, add a tab or two a day and you'll have crystal clear water all summer!
