this stuff is awesome!you really only need to add 1/8-1/4 of the bottle. I used half the bottle and it took a few flushes to get all of it out of the system once i found the leak... and i still didnt flush it all out. if you normally use the yellow coolant is no biggy, but for euro cars we use the pink stuff.definetly get a black light. and remember once you find the leak down low, trace it back up to make sure its not dripping on other things.

Concidering how cheap this is it works great. Batteries it comes with suck but that’s okay. I use this almost daily in the summer time, it’s lasted a few months so far. Will probably last for a few years id expect.

the glasses were well made and the yellow lenses were distortion free. The pen light worked, but seemed dim to me for detecting the dye in an oil leak on a car. It was easy to maneuver around the engine bay, but I had to really work to get it close enough to detect the dye.

This is totally worth the money, finding leaks was so easy to track down BOTH oil leaks and radiator fluid leaks on multiple cars. Before, I’d foolishly pour the whole bottle in. You don’t need to, the black light makes it pretty obvious and doesn’t seem to degrade over time. So if you can’t see it, you can always add a little more in to save money.

Light was not as bright as claimed. Supplied batteries were "spent' on receipt and light improved with new Duracell. It will do the job in dim light - no chance in daylight. Should have read previous reviews first.

Great product, helped me find a coolant leak in my car that I just couldn't find without it. I smelled the leaking coolant but couldn't see where it was coming from, as the amount of coolant lost was so small. I added half of the bottle, waited a few days, and saw nothing different. I added the rest of the bottle, and a few days later I saw the leak. I used a black light flashlight , and even in the garage, with the garage door open and garage lights on, the dye stood out brightly. (It was a hose that went from the top of the radiator to the overflow tank. I added a small hose clamp to fix it.)Why did I start with just half a bottle? We have 2 other cars, one is 13 years old and the other 15 years old, and I wanted to save the rest just in case I needed it for one of those cars. Other reviewers have stated that half a bottle worked for them. Maybe it would have worked for me as well if I had waited a few more days, but then again, the extra dye probably made it stand out even brighter. It was unbelievably easy to see, a bright neon color. After adding the hose clamp, I was able to wipe the dye off the radiator neck and it did disappear.Be sure to read the label - it can't be mixed with Dexcool anti freeze.

This stuff really works! i have had a slow leak in my cooling system for awhile.I kept topping it off time after time and I just couldn't track down. It wasnt enough of a leak to drip and leave a trail. So rather than taking it in to get it pressure tested I decided to try this. since i didn't have any coolant left to lose anyway. I did buy a 21 led light at the same time.(see my review on that).I topped the radiator off and put the contents in , closed the cap and ran the engine for about twenty minutes. I really didnt see anything. So I had to go on some errands and drove around for a few hours and went home and had dinner. The engine had cooled down and i shined the light all around the engine compartment and sure enough, there was this little spot of bright yellow. It was a loose hose clamp that had the smallest leak. I tightened up the clamp and looked around to make sure there was nothing else to see. I had some engine degreaser and sprayed down the area that had shown a leak and took a drive. when i came back i checked every thing and no yellow dye!! I had gotten very lucky it wasnt something else. I drove it another couple of days just to make sure everything was all right. Then I fluhsed the system and reinstalled fresh coolant
