Withstands High Temperatures

Our IFB insulating refractory bricks are rated for high-temperature uses. The lightweight fire brick application is broad, mainly as an insulator in industrial and hobby kilns, forges, furnaces heated by electric spiral elements, or gas burners for hot face lining or outer heat insulation.

Excellent for small or large construction sites, repairs and maintenance, refractory services, and even for personal hobbies such as jewelry soldering or casting.

Insulating Fire Brick Applications

Soldering surface for jewelry: You can easily solder jewelry on this fire brick. You may drill little holes in the brick to keep your jewelry in place while soldering. The fire brick allows you to solder more quickly and efficiently because you can concentrate the heat where you want it.

PMC+ and PMC3 Metal Clay Firing: Jewelry makers can use this fire brick as a safe surface for firing metal clay with a butane torch.

Kiln for Pottery Making: Great for building larger kilns for pottery makers. If you have a missing or defective kiln brick, you found an excellent replacement brick to fix your oven.

Build a Mini Forge: Ideal for building a mini forge for knife making.

Bricks work well. Edges crumble easily, however, but not enough to cause problems.

Every time we have ordered these, half of them arrived either cracked, or with corners completely broken off.

Got what I paid for. I am honestly surprised it survived shipping. When you go to remove it from packaging, there are several layers of cardboard around it which seems pretty decent at protecting the bricks. They are pretty delicate so I'm impressed they survived. If the bricks don't perform as expected in the forge I will update this review.

Have a very old kiln and the cover was broken. The firebricks replaced the broken firebricks and the lid works perfectly.

I fuse glass in a microwave kiln. I put my kiln on this brick after it's been fired so my bench doesn't catch on fire. Used four times already and no issues!

Excellent insulating high temperature resistant quantity brick base for Masterbuilt 30 inch propane smoker that would normally have to sit atop wood patio deck. Installed fifteen (15) of these special bricks. Lightweight/high quality. Kept buying bricks from vendor to reach exact dimensions of the insulation area I needed. Vendor ships immediately and carefully packs product in bubble wrap to arrive in perfect condition. Brick actual dimensions and thickness are perfect for complete stable and washable insulating brick arrangement under smoker.
