Stiching on center Velcro strap ripped when assembling. It would be nice if the canvas in the entrance was secured with the front posts going through it, but instead there are just two piece of Velcro at the bottom legs and one off centered up top. Do not expect it to last very long, especially if you have any high winds come through.

I am pretty handy at putting things together overall and this went okay. You have to figure out the correct angle for connectors and, as others have said, the pictograph directions are not very clear. It took about 20 minutes. The shelter is sturdy and of reasonable quality for the price. Within seconds, not even a full minute, my cat was curled up inside it. She is on her way out for head scratches when I took the picture. It is a perfect size for her and the open front means she can still keep a lookout when not snoozing for 22 hours a day. I like the elevated sturdy mesh bed. I am in TX and even the ground under the shade of the patio awning gets hot. This is much better for keeping cooler. Very happy with this purchase.

This is a very well made elevated pet house.The bottom support rods are metal, so they will not flex or deform from animals being in the bed.The bottom platform is sturdy and breathable and keeps pets off the hard, wet/cold/hot ground.The fabric cover provides ample shade and shelter from light rain or light wind.Assembly was quick and easy and only took me 5 to 10 minutes, out of the box.My 1 year old cat watched eagerly as I assembled it, then he crawled in to check it out. He was pleased.I got this cat/dog house primarily for a feral cream point Siamese cat, who visits my yard daily.This is quite an improvement over the cardboard box I had for him previously.I placed the house under a tall bush in my back yard, where he had already been sleeping, which also provides extra shade for the pet house.It works great to provide him with a comfortable place to sleep, where he feels safe.The first day I had the house outside for him, he went in with very little hesitation, quickly relaxed and fell asleep. The coverings on the top and three sides really help him feel more secure. Being in the pet house is the most relaxed I've seen him. He actually falls fully asleep and sometimes stays there for hours.I added a large folded towel to make it a bit more comfortable for him.When the feral cat isn't in my yard, my 11 year old cat will get in the house whether or not there's a towel and seems just as happy either way.We haven't had rain yet, but the sprinklers have sprayed the house from the closed sides and the waterwas capably repelled by the cover and none got inside. I can see heavy or driving rain getting blown into the open side, but this house should easily handle a light rain. It would be fairly easy to make my own cover for the fourth side, if I feel it needs it.I highly recommend this house for anyone looking to provide their small pet, or visiting cats with a comfortable place to rest, shielded from the elements.Pros:DurableEasy to assembleEasy to cleanComfortable for petsKeeps pets off the groundProtects reasonably well against the elementsWater resistantAttractive designCons:(Not so much a con as a suggestion) Could benefit from a removable 4th side cover with a flap opening.

We used this for our backyard, which lacks shade over the area where the dog likes to hang out. Now he can relax in the shade while we weed the flower beds or while we play bocce! We also brought it along on a vacation that involved a fair - we had our canopy, and the dog had his own extra covering to stay cool on the hottest midwestern days!

My cat used it for shade in summer on deck. I added a blanket when it got cold and he loves it even more!
