DO NOT PURCHASE!!! The minute I opened up the box I notice that one of the pieces was slightly damaged, which I was fine with. I continue to take out all the pieces from the box. I noticed a lot more pieces were damaged cracked had fallen apart. The quality of the material is not good at all. It’s very fragile. My husband and I just rescued a dog that had been abandoned and we needed something ASAP for this dog to keep her warm at night so with a little elbow grease I used some nail glue an extra material to build her a sturdy dog house. The reason I did not send it back is because we needed this doghouse ASAP because a storm was coming in and she needed to be kept warm.I did look at other dog houses. I did like the size of this one and how easy it was to clean, but the quality of it is just horrible.

Good design and materials, easy assembly. Only problem is my dog is 120 lb and doesn't fit.

Well, you get what you paid for. The house is really nice, but it is made of poor-quality materials and is a little hard to assemble. The metal corner gives it a little more strength and I me and my dog are happy with it.

Its pretty good and quite easy to build. Heavy duty it is not.

I don't always leave reviews, but this dog house deserves one.1. Well engineered2. Parts bagged for easy identification and an extra screw in each bag, nice touch.3. Clear instructions4. Screw holes properly aligned, assembled easily, sturdy walls, leakproof roof, floor pops right in. I did adjust the bracket holes slightly on the window shutter, to make the arm close properly, but that was an obvious and easy fix.5. I could have bought all the parts at home depot and built my own dog house, but the ease of this one makes it a no brainer, plus fun to assemble with daughter. I doubt mine would look as good.6. The only thing I added was a bead of caulking compound along the apex line of the roof that doesn't open. We live in an area where rain and snow blow horizontally, so figured to be certain it wouldn't leak. I used a wire coat hanger and two of the extra screws and made a latch on the hinged roof that folds open, just to be sure a strong gust of wind doesn't blow it open. Could be overkill.7. There is an odor to the house, similar to wood perservative, but the instructions say that will fade after a few days. They might have meant weeks. I'm at one week and it's about half gone. Hopefully the wood will last a long time. If it doesn't I'll update this review. A little straw on the inside and home sweet home.8. Our dog is 20 lbs, but I think it's big enough for 30 lbs, depending on stature. Sold as a medium to large house, but I'd say small to medium, at most.End//

Although the wood is somewhat thin, similar to slats. Having said that, it is weatherproof. The floor comes in two sections and fit pretty well, but do have slight gaps between the slats (most likely to allow water, pee through rather than pooling up. The walls are solid without any gaps though and the roof is thick and waterproof with a solid tar shingle material. I did buy bed mats to make the floors more weatherproof and warmer. Using these for the few hours I need to leave the dogs out in case the weather turns (snow/rain). The door flaps do help keep the wind and rain out and isn't stiff enough to impede the dog from going in and out.

This was fairly easy for me to assemble by myself. It's big enough for my two medium sized dogs, and they haven't eaten it yet. It has only been up for a few weeks, so I expect that it's only a matter of time.I live in southeast Oklahoma and needed something for them to stay warm in while I am at work. If you live in a colder climate and the dogs use it for longer periods, I might look elsewhere for better sealing and insulation. For me. it's adequate with a heater in it.The one complaint I have (and the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars) is that many of the dowels don't align with the pre drilled holes. This can leave gaps in the roof that allow heat to escape, not to mention the fact that I had to re-drill or ream the existing holes for the components to screw together.
