Blade Teeth Selection Advice and Welding Joint Comparison

How to Improve Life

  • Blade installation is the first step, make sure teeth is shown outside the guide, and blade strip is clamped tightly inside the guide.
  • Teeth direction should be the same with the direction of wheel rotation, twist the blade from inside to outside if teeth direction is opposite.
  • Running-in is required when blade cuts metal for the first time. It's important for blade life. During running-in, cutting speed should be 1/3 of normal speed, feed should be 1/4 of normal feed. Usually, after the blade cuts the first several pieces, like 5-10 pieces, adjust cutting speed and feed gradually to normal speed according relative parameters and your metal.
  • Blade tension will be different for differnt wide blades, as time goes on, blade tension will be reduced by the bandsaw and blade stretch, make sure the blade is correct tension, our recommended blade tension is 300N/mm2.
  • Coolant will be useful to cool and lubricate blade and teeth during cutting, better coolant could avoid overheat on the teeth of the blade, and reduce friction between the blade and the metal you cut.
  • Teeth selection is also important, here are our experience:

  1. big variable teeths (like 3/4TPI, 4/6TPI, 5/8TPI) are for cutting ferrous solid rod with big diameter;
  2. big constant teeth (like 6TPI) is for cutting ferrous solid rod with small diameter;
  3. big variable teeth (like 6/10TPI) is for cutting aluminum, copper, brass etc and other non-ferrous metal;
  4. middle variable teeths (like 8/12TPI, 10/14TPI) are for ferrous thick tubing, profile, sheet, plate etc;
  5. small constant teeth (14TPI) is for general purpose;
  6. small variable teeths (like 12/16TPI, 14/18TPI) is for ferrous thin tubing, sheet, plate, profile etc;
  7. small constant teeth (24TPI) is for ferrous thin tubing, plate, sheet etc, don't cut non-ferrous metal, like aluminum etc.

I have used this blade for a month now and it is still cutting. You need to slow the blade down as much as you can to keep heat down. If you have coolant cut away.

WHEN USED PROPERLY THESE BLADES WILL SEEM TO LAST FOREVER. CHOOSE CORRECT SPEED FOR THE METAL THAT YOU ARE CUTTING AND "DO NOT" BE ONE WHO FORCES CUTTING BY USING MORE PRESSURE ON YOUR METAL AND YOU WILL BE SURPRISED AT HOW WELL IT WILL PERFORM FOR YOU..

Got this blade to replace a similar name brand blade that cost about 3x the price of this one. This one had a much smoother welded seam than the more expensive one, and seems to be holding up just as good. This will probably be my go to from now on.

This is the second blade I’ve purchased, the first one was a year ago and it still cuts well. It snags on thinner metal and causes the blade to come off but that could be the fault of the saw rather than the blade. I’ve cut a bunch of steel of all kinds of thicknesses, some 3/4” and 1” flat stock and it really cuts well, a little slowly, but nice smooth cuts. Part of the reason it’s lasted and cuts well is because I use a fair amount of cutting oil, that really helps. Highly recommended.

I was looking for the right blade to cut a bunch of parts that needed to be cut as close to perfect as I could and when they arrived (like over night) I was happy to see they were packaged well and looked and felt good right away. after putting the blade on my saw and making my first cut I knew these blades were good! I can't speak for longevity as I just put it on but I will say this, I have been through a lot of blades and this one just seems to make me feel like I got a good deal. I was cutting 2" x 1/4" tube stock and after about 30 cuts the blade still looked new? WOW

It cut pretty well thru 1/4 and 1/8th inch mild steel plate, maybe 10 feet of cut, but it shed about half the teeth. It doesn't seem to last like others I have used. On soft metal or wood it would probably work well, just not good at all for steel long term.
