About this item

  • High silicon, low carbide steel
  • Ideal for cutting dried hardwoods and softwoods
  • Runs cooler and lasts longer
  • Runs under low tension which requires less horsepower

Low tension, Swedish silicon steel bandsaw blades from Timber Wolf will outlast your old carbon steel blades. Your bandsaw will cut better and faster with less wear on bearings, shafts and tires. Induction hardened teeth are milled for true tracking. This blade is typically used for cutting 3" to 12" kiln- or air-dried hardwoods or 3" to 10" kiln- or air-dried softwoods. Variable pitch pattern leaves a nice finish, and the blade is excellent for resawing.

I bought this blade for my Laguna 14BX bandsaw to help resawing an 8-inch-wide piece of 8/4 bubinga. While I was tempted to buy a "Resaw King" (at $150), I decided to try a much less expensive blade first. This is a big blade and the first time installing it took a bit longer than my usual blade changes. Timber Wolf has a very specific set of guidelines for tensioning this blade which I followed - lowering tension until the blade flutters, then increasing tension to just past a point where the flutter stops. But the result was good as this cut faster than the 1/2 in blade I had been using and it cleared sawdust from the cut very well. The cut quality was the best I have obtained for resawing such a big piece of hardwood, but I still used a planer to clean up the cut face of each slice. So this delivered cutting speed and cut quality and I'll be happy to use this as my dedicated resaw blade.

I bought this blade almost a month ago and it was my second time purchasing it. Initially, it was cutting great until today. The blade broke right at the weld. Thankfully I was in between cuts as it sounded like a gunshot when it broke. Hopefully this company/seller makes this transaction right. I’ve owned a couple of the exact same blades and never had it break at the weld.

Timberwolf blades are my go-to blades, I had a laguna resaw king and the Timberwolf is comparable performance for a quarter of the price.

not a expert on bandsaw blades, but this one looked good, worked well on a laguna 14BX to resaw a lot of 5" composite decking -- cuts were true and smooth -- handled the width without a problem -- will buy this blade again

purchase 2 blades at different times. first purchase was used heavily over three days then broke not on weld. second blade noticed out of the package there were a couple of hair line cracks. if you decide on purchasing this product check blades thoroughly.

Weld wasn't finished well. After a lot of careful work dressing the blade it was good enough to risk running with the ceramic guides. It worked OK but it still made noise as the weld went through the guides. I'll get a better blade next time.
