This was perfect for what we needed. My son, who had never pinned an insect before, mounted a giant grasshopper and it turned out awesome! It had everything he needed, including pins and strong foam for mounting. He was a little worried the foam wouldn’t be thick enough, but it easily held the pins and insect. He immediately asked me to buy 2 more of these frames.

my tarantula passed away recently and i wanted to try pinning him so he could be remembered since he was a beautiful boy and this kit comes with everything you need and he came out beautifully!! make sure to rehydrate your bugs before pinning them if they aren’t freshly dead, be very very gentle not to bend the limbs the wrong way when pinning and leave for at least 7 days and it’ll come out perfect ✨

This was my first insect pinning! I rated this kit 4 stars because of scratching on the sides and some dark marks on the EVA foam board. The wipe removed the small section of adhesive from one of the corners of the plastic protector (the see through display part, where glass would go) but did not remove the dark marks from the EVA.I can probably remove the dark mark with white out or a white color pencil, and the sides can be filled in with a black sharpie. It’s not noticeable from a few feet away.I like that it comes with instructions and different size pins. I would buy this again despite the scratches.
