The cable comes in one piece that you can cut to any length within that overall length to fit your needs and get the junction where you need it for easy access. the plugs fit snugly but I would not call the connection weatherproof. With proper taping/sealing it could easily be made very weather resistant. For my purposes it was an excellent solution. When unplugged and the attached caps pushed on, I would consider the ends very weather resistant.

This extension cable is good for uses not just to add length to a charger. We have some battery powered toy vehicles with aftermarket batteries in them. With this cable, cut in half and correctly spliced into the harness of the vehicle and the battery, will create an excellent, easy to plug-in and un-plug connection point for the toys. Rated at 30 amps, they take everything the little motors can throw at them in stride. Will buy again if we need to set up another vehicle!

It is a thick and stiff cable, so it may limit some application.A couple of reviewers claim that the wire is aluminum, not tinned copper. Maybe they got a different cable, but mine is copper. How to I know? By checking weight per foot. The cable matches closely US specs for copper wire weight per foot. Aluminum is 3 times lighter, there is no room for mistake.
