Great fob & key combo. Read the instructions. It's worth 2 minutes of your time. Programed the first try in the same amount of time it took me to read the instructions. Great replacement for the money.

The key and remote work beautifully! Got the key cut for $10 at ace hardware. Went home and programmed the key and remote in about 30 seconds. 2009 chevy impala.Great product. The key itself at ace hardware was about $45 + cut would be 55 to $60 total not including an oem remote. I got a remote and key for 20 and cut for 10. So I saved a great amount.

I took the key to a locksmith to be cut and they said I had to get it cut somewhere else because it wasn't a great metal and they were not going to dull their machine cutting it. OK, I took it somewhere else and had it done for 4.00. The fob was programmed and so was the key with minimal effort.

I don't know if it's the remote or the car but it has no range. It works great if I hold it against the door. Kinda cancels out the remote start when I have to touch the car for it to work

I racked my brain, researched and watch videos on how to do this for days. I finally took a chance and got it to work. I wanted to share it so maybe it will help you.** GM wanted $75 for just the remote and $120 to program it. Local Locksmith $125 for both **First: I needed a programmer for my car (2015 Traverse), newer GM vehicles don't have the option to program remotes through the information panel.I took a chance and purchased the Dorman 99161 with a key fob ($50.00). Plugged it into the ODB2 port and followed the instructions. It probably took longer to read the instructions than to actually do them.I then purchased this Key and Key fob and programmed it using the above ODB2 programmer. Again, easy and quick. (side note: you must program all the remotes at the same time, still easy to do, press and hold lock and unlock until it beeps, 5 seconds?).Interestingly, I went to Lowes Home Improvement to have the key in this kit cut. The gentleman cut the key and said he had no way to charge me because I brought in the blank. So no charge to cut the key!(I felt a little guilty, so I got another house key cut while I was there, even through I didn't really need it).Programming the key was also super easy:Original Key: turn to on position (Do not crank) count to 5Turn key back to off - count to 5New Key: turn to on position (Do not crank) count to 5Turn key back to off - count to 5.Started car with original key (YES it started) turned off carStarted car with New key (YES it started) turned off car.............................Done$70 and I have 2 remotes and another key (and another house key, LOL)

try to figure out how this works. So I went where everyone goes, to you tube! Easy enough as there are no instructions with the key and remote that is sent. I don't know why it's called a FOB, whatever with the stupid acronyms that no one knows except technicians which are probably not buying this. Any way, I went to a locksmith and paid $4 to get the key that was sent along with the remote cut. I had my original car key that I gave him to do this. He was able to cut it correctly and I was able to open my door with it but that is it! I couldn't turn the key to the ignition with it. This is vital for it to be able to be programmed. You need to turn it off and then on and then off again while holding down the open and close button on the remote. There are a few more steps like holding the open lock on the door while you hold the remote buttons first. You can go to you tube like I did for that step by step instruction. But I am writing this to tell you not to buy this. I tried to return it and never got a response, which I understand as I have had the key cut but just buyer beware.
