Wasn't real happy with the way the shaft joined the base, but was able to use the indicator for the particular job I was working on. Considering Locktite on thread engagement.

I bought this to setup jointer knives and testing runout on my table saw. It works wonderfully for those purposes. Haven't used for anything else though. But if you want a quick, easy and cheap means of setting up a jointer, TS etc., look no further.

I used this indicator to set up my work piece on the mini-milling machine and it worked as advertised. Set up was easy.

Hey, this is a sweet dial indicator set for you tool box. Worth every penny when you need one for seting up gears, transmission shaft end play, checking wheel runout, etc.

Feels nice and is very cheap for the price. In fact, it was the cheapest 1" digital indicator I found any where. The fractions are handy too, but it does not display decimal and fractional values at the same time which is bad in my opinion. The only other gripe I have about the indicator is that it's over all stem length is slightly shorter than that of the PhaseII dial indicator. This means if you plan to use this in a jig you built for the PhaseII, you may need to use a longer tip that can be purchased separately. My digital indicator even has a USB looking port that is used for SPC output. Unfortunately, it isn't a USB port so you can't just use a USB cable and plug it straight into a PC to capture data.I'm giving the tool 4 stars because it is definitely worth the money and is great for wood working enthusiasts. I'm not saying it's good enough for a machinist though, but I don't think that's the intent of the tool. I use it with the Betterly UNA-Gauge (universal alignment gauge) with great success to measure depth, height etc...
