im ok with it being Chinese tool and so so quality. but it was missing all parts from 0.7-1.4" and i really just want the parts to keep the tool but had to return it

The unit works well enough to get the job done with confidence. I had an issue with missing parts and the vendor quickly sent me the missing part so I can get this tool in operations. I appreciated their immediate attention and assistance.

have only used it a couple of times but i really like it so far. Granted it's not top of the line but I'm not building race engines. It's a huge step up from the telescoping gauges I used to use. Note: you will need a micrometer (not included) close to your bore size to set it properly. If you don't have a micrometer, for an unbored block you can use the bottom portion of the bore (where the rings don't ride) as your zero point and go from there to find wear higher in the cylinder.

I work as a full time machinist in a job shop , this dail bore has held tolerances +-.001 all day , day after day . we have only used the .750 to 1.5 once and it worked great . I have this dail bore set and a fowler 1.5 to 6. Extender . and those are awesome to have on multiple Bores . I have had mine since end of February .

I can't find a use for which this would be acceptable. It's definitely not a "tool room" measurement device. I've used a number of import gauges and generally calibrate my expectations, but this set is simply too crude.Measurement of larger bores (1.5"+) was roughly repeatable (although nowhere near 0.0005"). 0.7-1.4" is not usable. The frame is made out of extruded aluminum, so dimensional scalability is simply not there. On top of that the whole setup has serious binding issues, so accurate measurement is practically impossible.
