A friend had a Ring doorbell and was unhappy with the cloud subscription. When she saw my ieGeek security camera with SD card, she replaced her Ring and saved herself some money. Like me she was more than happy with the camera and the ieGeek app. When ieGeek launched this video doorbell I was interested to see how well it compared to the security camera.Obviously it's smaller, has a doorbell and chime. But like the camera, it connects to the same ieGeek phone app. It also has some notable extras, such as the three pre-recorded messages and voice disguise option, though I couldn't find how to use this. And like the camera it comes with free cloud storage of 6 second clips for 7 days. Paid cloud subscription is available or one can opt for local SD card storage. As expected, the doorbell is well packaged with a useful user guide and USB charging cable. Batteries for the bell chime are included but no SD card. But I already have loads of them. Before using, the doorbell's battery should be charged for between 8 to 10 hours, though mine only took about 4 hours. There's a red indicator light on the charging port which turns blue when fully charged. And the battery level can easily be checked via the phone app.The doorbell sits in a cradle which can either be screwed to the wall/doorframe (screws and wall plugs are supplied) or attached using the three self-adhesive, double sided pads. The chime is free standing and one can choose from 4 ringtones and adjust the volume.Setup is so easy. The doorbell and chime should be paired by default but easy to do if not.Next charge the doorbell, insert an SD card (if required), download the ieGeek app and then "add" the doorbell. Choose a suitable location and test the wifi quality using the app. Remove the bell from its cradle, using the supplied "key" and fix in position. Finally place the chime somewhere convenient and test the doorbell. If you have a suitable Alexa device, the doorbell can be added using the ieGeek Cam skill. Just follow the instructions in the ieGeek phone app. And remember to change the device name from the default numeric one. I now have all my ieGeek cameras and the doorbell added to my Echo Show which works really well.In summary, the doorbell was of similar quality to the ieGeek security cameras and works really well with the phone app. I really like the free cloud storage and the option of using an SD card for longer clips and history. The app (and my Echo) provides a continuous live camera view and motion detection alerts. Plus you get a cordless chime unit. A much cheaper option than a Ring!

This bell has everything you need, and it all works great. Installation is effortless. The unit has a high quality look and feel. Video is crystal clear. Sensitivity is excellent. Motion detection eliminates the need for another camera. Sound quality is good enough. Recharges quickly via USB-C. The app is great, and if you have other ieGeek gear, it all integrates perfectly. Why pay more when you can get it all at this price?

Easy to install and connect. The camera has multiple features and even more in the app. Very good camera quality even in the dark. Very good for the price!

Great image in day/night. Easy set up and connected to app no problem but the battery life is terrible even in power saving mode not even getting a full 3 days after a 8-10 hour charge.

I purchased this camera doorbell for security purposes because I don’t have a peephole in my front door. We have lots of home health care visitors each week, so I really have a need to see who’s coming and going. I looked at several other devices and read the reviews before purchasing this amazing product. I wanted a doorbell that was wireless, easy to install, very reasonably priced, and did not require a contract/monthly fee, and this camera doorbell FAR exceeded my expectations. I used the mounting screws, and it was super easy to set up. The instructions were awesome. I am having no problems with WiFi connectivity, and the videos are crystal clear. I also like that the mount protects the device from the elements. I haven’t installed a micro disk yet, but you also have the opportunity to save your photos/videos to the cloud for free and/or for a small monthly fee (there are several options to choose from, depending on your needs). I feel so much safer being able to see and speak with our frequent visitors! I would most definitely recommend this camera doorbell!

This is the best camera for a low cost. I needed an inexpensive, wireless doorbell camera that would record on motion and mount without damaging because I live in an apartment. I used double sided outdoor TRex tape. This brand ALSO has wireless rechargable outdoor cameras for the same price that I mounted at my other doors.Battery: the charge lasts forever. I've had to charge this one time over the last 2 months and there's pretty heavy traffic as I live in an apartment. I still haven't had to charge the other 2 cameras I got for the other doors.App and install: Simple. Set up was easy after I downloaded the app. I pay $8.99/month for unlimited storage through the app for this doorbell and 2 outdoor cameras. The app is easy to navigate. You can customize the alerts and notifications. You can make it sound and alarm and spotlight. It's good. There is a slight lag. Like 3 seconds maybe from when a person walks in front of it before it starts a recording but that's not an issue at all. Sometimes it will take my phone up to 30 seconds to load the live feed, but other times it's instant. Again, not an issue for me at all.Night vision is good. Video quality good. It alerts when there are people outside but not with cars passing or the random cats and squirrels. Also great. I highly recommend this if you're wanting peace of mind security without the high cost of some of the other brands. Especially if you want different types of cameras all linked on one app.

After using the ieGeek doorbell camera for a week, I’m quite impressed with its performance. The setup process was straightforward, and the app integration is user-friendly, making it easy to monitor my front door remotely. The video quality is sharp during the day and surprisingly clear at night, thanks to the night vision feature. The motion detection works well, notifying me promptly whenever there’s activity near the door. The two-way audio is also a great feature; it allows me to communicate with visitors even when I’m not at home. The battery life has held up well so far, with minimal drain after a week of usage. Overall, the ieGeek doorbell camera has proven to be a reliable and affordable choice for home security, offering excellent value for its price. I’d recommend it for anyone looking for a simple, effective doorbell camera.

Had this J9 doorbell for a couple of weeks and impressed with it so far.The doorbell hardware looks substantial and is super easy to install, the supplied chime unit perhaps less substantial in design - it can however be set to a surprisingly loud level.Activations/doorbell pushes are quickly detected and notifications appear on the ieGeek app in a timely fashion - video playback quality is very good. One gripe may be the battery life - it doesn't appear to be as fulfilling as the manufacturer may indicate.I intend to let the battery almost fully discharge and then monitor after re-charge to see if there is an improvement.Other than that I'm happy with the quality, performance and affordability of this J9 doorbell and would recommend it wholeheartedly.
