This was my error. I had a similar item and the ink roller would retracted into the housing for storage. I thought this one also would, but it doesn't. It's a great feature. This one you keep having to take off and replace the cover. The first few times I got ink on my fingers until I figured it out. Again, my error. The next one I purchase will have the retracting feature.

I live in a townhouse community that is near our public transport, so we get a lot of foot traffic through our neighborhood to get there. We put our trash out, but I am concerned about things blowing out of the can with my information. These cover a nice swath of writing and really cover up the writing with lines that make it impossible to read through. This has saved me a lot of time from scratching things out on my own, so it is very easy to use.

This completely covered sensitive information even if I tried to wet and wash off the ink. I haven't had to refill it yet. Mine came with several ink refills.

Does not work on glossy documents. Works best for bills and letters. Cuts down on the amount of shredded paper refuse. Increases amount of paper we recycle. Less waste. I use the big roller for cardboard boxes and 8 x 11 inch documents. The smaller roller is good to have in the office for letter envelope and smaller sized documents. Haven't tried refill ink yet but I think the refill bottles might be less messy than indicated with some of the other products I've seen advertised similar to these theft protection roller stamps.

Make sure you use it on a porous surface. If there's a coating it won't work as well. Otherwise, it's a great product.
