Great price for two key fobs at the price I got them for, the dealership wanted $375.00 for one key and to cut one key and program one key. I thought that was extremely to expensive, so I researched a key fob machine at the cheapest price I could find and bought it for $130.00 dollars it came to my residence in about a month and I had to take it apart and put it back together because some parts weren’t installed properly together after opening the box. I figured it out after taking it apart to put the right pieces in the right places and adjust them correctly took about a hour to tune it just right. Before it arrived. I went to a parking lot lock smith to find out what he would charge me to cut and program two keys he was more than the Chevy dealership. The lock smith wanted $195.00 per key and $300.00 to program both keys at almost $700.00 for to keys plus tax would been way more than the dealership. I was like you gotta be kidding me! So l said I’m going to check on more place. So I went to another lock smith about a mile further down the road I new about and ask the lock smith if he could give me a deal on cutting ‘and programming two key fobs. He said he won’t do any key fobs and he said he would recommend one for me. I said it ok I’m good. I went home went on YouTube and did it my self. I followed the instructions and it took me about 1-1/2 hours to program both keys to my volt and another half hour to cut both keys and that was Mainly setting up the drill bits and setting them up perfectly to cut both keys. Cutting the keys were actually extremely easy once the machine is dialed in. I save a bunch of money doing it myself. What kills me is the after finding out they actually have a hand held machine that programs the key by adding some information into it and it programs the keys in a few minutes in which it’s even easier to do but the handheld machine cost about $500.00 to get and higher $$$. I still saved a lot of money doing it myself. The inflation now is out of control it’s insane what you have to do to save a buck nowadays unbelievable. Government must think tax money grows on trees.😡🤬🤬
