I ordered this for a JBJ 12 gallon Nanocube. The circulation pumps I had, although relatively small, protruded into the tank and were unsightly. I always liked the low profile of the Hygger pumps and decided to give them a try. The pump had no issues with the magnets holding it in place. I loved that is is barely noticeable in the tank. The flow was perfect for what I needed. The controls are very basic. and easy to set. I noticed that no matter what setting I used, the pump remained constant, even on the wave settings. I contacted Hygger and asked about troubleshooting vs. simply returning the pump. They responded quickly (within 24 hours), and after a few short exchanges, the offered to replace my pump at no cost. This was very surprising to me. I got the new pump set up and it works great! I fiddled with the placement of the pump until I got it so that the detritus would accumulate (mostly) in a single pile for easy cleaning. I love this little thing. For the price of the pump, I am OK if I need to replace it a little more than a bigger pump. I like the size and water movement it generates. It would be nice if you could tile the pump a little to get some angled flow, but this would be a tradeoff for the lower profile, so I am fine how it is. despite the initial issue, I gave this a 5+ star review because of the customer service. It is hard to find anyone that stands behind their product like this. I plan to order a couple of larger pumps for my 34 gallon reef as well.

Good price, perfect size and flow for my 20gal. The pump was really loud to start but it quieted down after running for a little bit. Cycling through the programs was easy enough. Unfortunately the pump stopped working after about two weeks. Contacted the company through Amazon and never heard back.

The Pros:Nice form factor for a small pump.Controller is compact.Easy to setup.QuiteThe Cons:The included guard is pretty worthless and I wasn't even sure how to get it to stay in place. So I'm running it without the guard.Magnet is small and barely holds the unit in place. (60 gal. glass thickness).NOW for the real deal breaker. The controller randomly cuts out and throws an E04 error which means the pump is detecting dry running conditions. It is definitely installed in the tank when it does this.I'm returning it for a replacement, hopefully it's just a one-off dud.

Wave maker settings are a little cumbersome to get through and figure out even with the manual but once you get it dialed in, it has a ton of power, and has maintained great flow in my nano reef. would highly recommend. Magnet is strong and noticeably of good quality.

This item is affordable and it's quiet! For a smaller tank of 30 gallons this product has the perfect levels to adjust as needed for my fish and coral.

I like that’s it’s easy to set up and use but I wish the magnet was stronger to keep in place. Other than that it’s been fine. I might try and get a different magnet for it.

I've never had issues with Hygger products. In all honesty they're one of my favorite brands for aquarium supplies for a multitude of reasons.AffordabilityQualityDependabilityThese are probably the 3 major factors I look for when getting anything for my aquariums and Hygger has never let me down. The wave maker is exactly as advertised. I have mine set to the "lowest" speed setting because I have a heavily planted tank. The different variety of wave modes are probably helpful for any sort of salted tank but I'm fortunate that the constant flow is just what I need to help bring out more natural behaviors from my fish that enjoy a bit more flow in the open areas of the tank.I have no cons, their product description is accurate, and its met expectations so far. I'll update this review in 6 months.

This thing can move some water, the fish love it and for me it helps keep things floating around in the water column to be sucked up by the filters. So helps keep my Cichlid's sand clean for them to dig and play in. I love the fact that its just a small puck in the corner of the aquarium and not a huge honking fan sticking out of the side, so it doesn't distract much from the aquarium. The controller works great, and is simple to understand. I use the Feed timer every time so they can eat undisturbed, and the food doesn't go blowing all to one side. After the time is up, the waves kick on and any food that didn't get eaten starts flying about gracefully until a fish gets it or its sucked up. but there is usually no uneaten food left lol.The different wave patterns are nice, not sure they do a whole lot for the fish, I found the pattern they seem to like while still achieving the results i wanted. I do wish you could control the wave patterns intensity and not just the frequency, the intensity of the flow is only adjustable in the normal always on mode. also the guard to help protect the fish could secure a bit better in my option to the power head. as it is its mostly the cord and the magnet keeping it in place. the wave maker is quite and do not hear it over anything else at all. don't even know its on really. The magnet itself is good enough, though i wish it was a bit stronger, i have had others with much more powerful magnets. but like i said its doing the job and not moving. all in all i like this wave maker, and for freshwater tank that doesn't really need all the different wave types or modes i think this thing is a good choice.
