this grow kit is reasonable for the $70 price. ive had many gardens like this, i have used several of the aerogarden models with digital displays and wifi and as fancy as they look its overkill for the most part and i wouldnt use most of the features. this device has the features i did use; a light with a timer, water base and pump. it also alerts me to low water with a red light apparently. the pump is very silent, i think it was running while i was next to it, the device was vibrating but i didnt hear anything.i didnt give full stars for a few reasons. first, this should come with some basic seeds, basil even, as i received this in the fall and all the stores had removed their seeds, i was only now able to find seeds as they get the garden centres geared up. 2nd, it has a pump, but it just moves water, the aerogardens would pump the water so it would drip on the plugs, but really not needed with base of plugs soaking up the water, but if all the pump is doing is moving water around so it doesnt get stagnant, there may be cheaper and easier ways to do it. its also a bit small, its going to be hard to fit full size plants in this device. i started cherry tomatoes and ghost peppers, then in a month or so ill start basil , then i can make fresh salsa but its going to be challenging fitting that under the light, in fact most things will be fighting for the light after a few months.overall a neat kit but a bit small and it would cost about the same to buy a grow light and some soil which would end up in less plant hassle.

I bought this one for myself and I am just now using it! I am loving it! I haven’t changed the tank water yet, but my seeds have grown and I am beginning to separate my plants! I would definitely recommend this. I purchased the 8 pod system for my grandsons!

I've made a few attempts to grow several herbs with little proof of my effort. The machine it self is easy to use and set up, and seems well made. However the included instructions are very confusing. I would suggest doing a lot of independent research before planting. All My previous germinated seeds either did nothing or sprouted really slowly and then suddenly withered and died. Most likely due to my lack of a green thumb. Seems like a good starter kit- If I didn't kill any plant I so much as look at.

I had another hydroponic grower, but the seed incubator takes things to the next level. I am currently add a 90% germination level and I don't think I bought special seeds. I'm growing a mix of veggies, herbs and flowers. The lettuce and herbs seems to be doing best (so far).Set up of this machine was simple. There's a great size resevoir so I'm not constantly filling up the water (plants are still small). I think some of the accessories are unnecessary - but they gave plenty of starting sponges, plant foodand signage. It's a really nice set up and I recommend this growing system.

I have used another hydroponic system in the past to grow plants with my students, but it is much larger and takes up a huge amount of space in my classroom. This hydroponic system is small and compact. It will be great for growing herbs and starting seeds that can then be repotted into soil. The instructions for set up were clearly written and included photos that supported understanding what was being asked -- this was very important as my students that were setting it up are in a special education classroom.
