Having a still air box is pretty much mandatory if you do home mycology. I have used this a few times now and have to say that there are some pleasant features. The light was a brilliant touch and the induction coil sterilizer with the automatic on/off is perfect—though I mostly use needles with mycology, so I used one of the alcohol burners instead of that. However, for my work with tissue culture that is going to see a lot of use. The plastic is thick and you can see through it, the hand holes are big enough to fit mason jars through—which is important when pulling them out. This is what I am using when I innoculate my seed spawn and I use a large laminal flow hood for when I am working with my five-pound bags. That is the one thing that would be hard to do with this is working with larger substrate bags.Overall, this is a solid still air box that is great for experienced growers and for people just getting into it. Highly recommend this!

Awesome product, except missing hardware to attach induction heating element. Also would be nice to mount the power supply, instead of it flopping around. Also, removable covers for the arm holes when assembled, but not in use.

OK, maybe I'm old, which I am, but keeping all four sides up to then click in the top required my wife to help. It went together easier, but ... four arms. The sterilizer attached easily. The wires protrude from the bottom of the black unit - that lines up the sterilizer itself with the hole in the side. Just above on the right side of the sterilizer box is another small hole into which you thread the light. The blue backing tape peels off to attach to the top (I used the two form marks to set center and straight). That blue tape is not scored so I had to convince it that it was coming off for a minute or two. Once started, it gave up.The pic with the screws, washers, and bolts ... included is four black things that look like wheels. They are not they shown in any seller pics or videos. Nor can I figure out anywhere to which they can attach. I guess they're a gift. Nice touch. They'll be exactly what I need someday. The power supply and sterilizer both seem to be good quality. Five-second sterilizing without flame is a big deal.It comes with SS rack. I'm going to replace it with a larger one. Their rack is fine, I just want more rack support wall-to-wall. I also watched a video (someone else's) that suggested a 4" or so wide higher rack to create a second level to make it easier to reach the back. Good idea. The package does not come with instruction. There's a card with a QR code. You register for a 6-month warranty and there's video instructions - some videos as are on the production-description page.Looking forward to using this SAB.

First off the still air box itself is magnificent. Nice thick plastic, and yet more transparent than a lot of the "clear" box materials out there. LOVE the 2 sides that flip open. Makes cleaning & loading / unloading a breeze. The stainless mesh rack is a nice addition for getting up off the bottom of the box. Holes are well cut, no jagged edges. And the entire box including stainless rack & handles collapses down into a very compact space (just 3 inches tall). The induction coil sterilizer is a nice design. Adding the laser cutoff as the activation switch is a great idea that eliminates the need for a manual switch or foot pedal. Too bad induction coil sterilizers don't work for needles like they do for scalpels!I would like to see a more compact / portable design for the sterilizer setup. The power supply is rather unwieldy, being hardwired to the sterilizer box. A design using an inline 12v power supply (like laptops have) would make for a more portable design. So would swapping wingnuts for sterilizer attachment instead of the supplied hex nuts. Finally the supplied LED strip light tapes to the inside of the still air box lid. Not ideal for repeated cleaning with alcohol. An LED strip light that mounts or sits on top of the box is a better choice. Add a pig tail so it can be unplugged from the power supply assembly. But these are minor quibbles. The industry is still evolving and this is definitely an advancement on many of the other designs I've seen. If you do a lot of agar work for microbiology / mycology / microscopy, and want to move away from open flame sterilizers this is a good setup especially if you have a small space and need a compact design that can be easily collapsed and stowed.
