Works as expected, makes your life easier but for me, I feel it’s way overpriced.

Easy attachment. Only criticism is that it only works with 2.4 G

A bit pricey for what it is but works beautifully. All the control you could want of your reticulation from your phone.

I installed 2 of these for 2 identical Hunter timers on both sides of our house. The first installed, synched and set up fairly easily. It took several tries to get it connected to my wifi but after 3 tries, it finally connected and set up with the Hydrawyse app was easy. The app isn't the most intuitive, but once you understand the terminology (zones vs programs vs schedules), it's very helpful. I love being able to add photos to each zone, as descriptions are sometimes hard to come up with.We don't have rain sensors, but I have it set to monitor and adjust based on local weather forecast. So far, it's been very accurate and has skipped scheduled cycles when it's either rained heavily the day before, is raining now, or is forecast to rain that day. We had very light rain early one morning, and the system still kicked in at 7am b/c no more rain was forecast for the rest of the day.I recently planted some new plants in one of the zones and have been manually starting that zone for extra waterings on top of the scheduled ones. Doing so is so easy using the app.The second module that I attempted to install was a whole different story. It refused to be recognized at all. After spending over an hour trying, I stopped to analyze why this one wasn't working.Looking at both modules, serial number sticker on the first one was on the back of the module and it was printed in dark, crisp, clear lettering. The second module had the serial number printed on a faded sticker that was stuck (but partially lifting at the edges) onto the front of the module. The writing was so faded that it was a bit difficult to read the numbers. Thinking maybe a 1 might be a I or a 6 could be a faded 8, I tried all the different combinations. Still no luck.I finally ended up asking Amazon for an exchange, as I wondered if this had been a return/defective item that I received. That must have been the issue, because when the replacement arrived the sticker was clean and the print was dark and clear. I was able to install/sync it with just 4 connection tries as I did with the first one and it too, has been going strong for over a year now without any issues at allThis has been super helpful for us as we travel a lot. We have great neighbors who would stop by to turn off our sprinklers during a rainy week, then turn them on again when the storm system had passed. No need to ask them to do that anymore.Summary:- it takes several attempts to sync/connect it to wifi, but once connected, it works great and has not dropped connection in over a year now- we've had several power outages since installation, and when power is restored, the system restores itself without issue- adjusting, editing or manually starting/stopping operation is simple

I have only had this for almost 1 month. Here is what I found:My X2 is not compatible with bluetooth but they stated that so it was not a problem. I used WIFI interface to initially establish the link. I found it easier to setup an account and the Hunter using my laptop. After it was setup I simply added the app to my phone. The entire setup was downloaded to the app and now I control the Hunter with my phone. Read everything when you go to new pages on the app; I read quickly at first only to have to reread the page to find the error in my way. The WIFI also connects to weather stations to help setup you app. For example, one setting I have is to not water if the wind speed is > 19 MPH (why water the lawn next door).

I had our home’s irrigation installed a week or so before I realized that you needed to purchase this ‘WI-FI Wand’ adapter/installable WiFi/bluetooth device to our Hunter X2 system. I read a bunch of terrible reviews and am still confused with why they left such bad reviews. This was the easiest thing I’ve installed in a very long time. If you can just be patient, download the hydrawise app, create an account, then follow the 3 simple step instructions, it is an incredible addition to our irrigation system. I couldn’t be happier. Also I don’t need to buy a weather sensor after installing the Hunter WiFi/Bluetooth ‘Wand’ because it connects to your location and provides accurate weather forecasts. This makes saving water so much easier for us. I couldn’t be happier with this add on. Only thing I can think to complain about is that Hunter should sell the X2 Controller with the adapter or without as options. That way you don’t expect you’re getting a WiFi controller included like we thought. Even the irrigation installation company thought it came with this Wand but, definitely not, otherwise- if you have a Hunter X2 Irrigation system without this WiFi Wand insert, it is SO SO worth it.

Was trivial to install, but setup took a little bit of work. Had to use Bluetooth for setup, Wifi would not connect to my iPhone. But once I got that, I could go back in the house and configure it. If you really want to save money and not over/under water, you have to have this. Also no need to pay an expensive contractor to set it up, you can easily do it yourself. Very easy way to keep it from watering when it has or is going to rain, without needing a rain sensor. Can compensate for temp/humidity, time of year, etc. So very useful and you can water your lawn on demand from your phone. Big help, big savings.

Installed the 3 piece Hunter system, timer, Rain Sensor, antenna sensor. Took me a good hour. System is not intuitive at all. Couldn’t even find my Network. I had to manually enter it. Make sure you take picture of serial number on chip for setup & rebate. Everything worked great when I installed 3 days ago. Then my internet went down for 30 minutes & it did not connect back to router 10 feet away. You would think it would be smart enough to get me back to running but nope. After trying to set up all over again several times & it still would not work. I finally deleted the app. & reinstalled it, took me through the entire set up process all over again. It finally worked but could not remember basic items like password & internet name. This took me about 3 hours of trouble shooting & it ends up being the app? What a disappointment. Then the rain sensor disabled the watering program & app. does not tell me why. Should say rain or forecast or some identifier. So I had to trouble shoot that to insure it was still paired & connected to controller found out it was forecast. No customer service phone number available for problems. I had to email & they said they would respond in 24 hours. Very disappointed, what a joke. Absolutely no customer service in a timely matter.
