More homes are being constructed with high ceilings. A Hunter 3/4-Inch downrod sets the fan at the proper height for optimum performance. All Hunter extension downrods match Hunter fans for fit and finish and have tapered threads for deeper engagement.

We bought new fans, however needed down-rods. Looked at our local hardware store, they wanted double the price of what these cost. Arrived earlier than expected and worked very well. Highly Recommend.

I've been a fan of this product, really. The packaging caught my attention, meticulously done. It protected the downrod during the shipping process. I just wish the product had more features to rave about. Overall, it's a good buy for any ceiling fan users out there.

I purchased 4 Home Decorators ceiling fans recently and the downrod here on amazon. The 3/4 inch fits but not perfect. First the screw holding the grounding wire is M5 on the Home Decorators while it is M4 here. I purchased M4 x 8mm here on Amazon as replacement and it works. Secondly the Alignement of the bar holding the fan with the hole for the security screw on the head is not the same. There is about 2mm difference. This does not sound much but will result in the entire weight of the fan being lifted by the small M4 screw which will break over time. As a solution, I wrapped the small bar supposed to hold the fan in place with aluminium tape until the bar is actually lifting the weight and not the small M4 security screw. You can certainly use other materials to wrap the bar, e.g. other heavy duty tape but I have the feeling that aluminium tape will be the best, also for grounding issues. All in all not the fault of Hunter that the downrod does not fit exactly, but make sure to check that your security screw is not lifting all the weight as that could be a problem down the road.

We needed to lower the newly purchased fan that we were installing in a open high pitch ceiling. Worked well!

Great fit, we were able to extend length so blades would clear the a-frame roof

Worked perfectly to extend the downrod for a fan we put in our living room since it has vaulted ceilings. The fan hangs at the right level now and pushes around cool air. Our previous fan was hung too high and would only push hot air down from the ceilings. This made the new fan work much better for our needs. It perfectly matched the metal of the Hunter fans we bought from the orange big box hardware store.

I purchased a 52" Hampton Bay outdoor ceiling fan. This Hunter brand was compatible with the Hampton Bay interface between the ceiling mount and the fan motor. The brushed nickel finish matched. The only issue I had was transferring the ground wire from the Hampton Bay "short downrod" to this 18-inch downrod. The thread size was different on the Hunter (and no screw was provided by Hunter), so I had to find what I think was a #8 or #6 small machine screw to fit the Hunter downrod.

Arrived quickly and was the perfect extension length to fit for the low, angled ceilings in our bonus room. The downrod that came with our ceiling fan wasn't long enough to hang the fan low enough so that the fan blades wouldn't hit the angled ceilings. The downrod holds the fan perfectly steady preventing it from wobbling. The color matches exactly to the fan it's paired with and was easy to install with the Hunter fan we purchased. After testing that it would fit into the ceiling fan, I removed the rod from the fan. Later, I realized the instructions say not to loosen it after installing because of the grease or something that is on the threads that is supposed to prevent it from coming undone, but I haven't had any problems with it loosening since it's been up.
