I'll tell you, reading so many reviews sometimes makes you second guess yourself on a purchase. Reading through all of these reviews did just that to me; however I ended up purchasing it, in order to replace my HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 that died, due to a lightening strike to my house. On that note, I highly recommend you connect your printer to a powerful surge protector, as this unit appears to not handle surges very well. I am pleased with my purchase and I love the new design on the printer tray. That was one thing I hated in the past, was to pull out the tray in order for it to catch the papers that are being printed. Digital interface is user friendly and easy to use too.

It's been about 3 months now. I got it for home use. It has all the features I wanted: Double sided print, auto feeder for copying, Air print, web print, fast print for both color and BW, fast scanning. It has unique design. Works very smoothly. Has a nice big touch screen with extra features. such as scan to email, google drive, drop box account print, scan to network folder, scan to sharepoint etcI don't use it very often, but when I do, it works pretty well. Even my husband who was against to have an all-in-one printer started to use my printer as it's very easy and fast to wake it up and use from his iPhone or our wifi network.

Clumsy configuration, ridiculously poor integration with Win 10 (native printer management is battling it out with HP's printer software), print quality is good with text and graphics, but less than mediocre with photographs. Print speed is excellent, especially for an inkjet. Turning this thing on is a process. Takes about a minute before it's ready, with very significant adjustment movements that shake the whole device. Wake from sleep is quick, however. Scan results are of poor quality, with quite a bit of pixelation even at high scan resolution. Scan quality was very high on my list, which contributes to the low rating for this printer. Scan feeder does work well, though. Consumption of the printer ink is pretty brisk, and I can't wait to find out what the full replacement set will cost. This was a well-rated all-in-one (not just on Amazon) when I purchased it in Nov 2016, but I can't say that I share the optimism that others had for this printer having used it for 9 months at this time.

This product replaced our previous HP 8100 printer and a Neat scanner. Quite satisfied with the purchase for its use as a SOHO "all in one".Printer: Our print needs are modest, maybe 20 pages a month. Rarely have need for photo or other special papers. Bottom line, perfect for modest needs, but I can't comment about it's ability to handle heavy volume and demanding graphics/photo printing.Scanner: If anything we use this to scan pretty much every scrap of paper, more than printing, in the ever-elusive search for the "paperless office": important receipts, kids' school papers (for convenient emailing to grandma!), bills, etc. The big reason I went for the 8730 over the 8720 or 8710 was it's ability to handle more/ bigger scanning projects. For me the extra $$$ was worth it. I do find that the scanning functions are not quite as easy to use as a standalone ADF scanner like the Neat it replaced, but only slightly. (Takes longer to navigate the menus and then custom-name in order to save a document exactly where I want it.) However, saving space on my desk, and other aggravations with Neat itself, again, make it worth it. One big advantage that an all-in-one has over a regular ADF like Neat or Fujitsu ScanSnap is that it also has an old-school flatbed option. This works quite well for the occasional full-color certificate, photo, etc. that I want to scan in great detail (and possible printed reconstruction)--a job that Neat and Fujitsu (have owned and used both these in the past) never handled well.Fax: Can't comment as this is not important for me/ have never even tried to use.My only wish-list item would be to magically shrink this to the size of, say, an old-fashioned, large dictionary. It *does* take up quite a bit of space--more what you'd expect from a laser than an inkjet--but still less than the old printer-plus-scanner did.

After four months it started intermittently damaging the edges of the paper when printing or copying. HP would not do a warranty exchange without spending two days with overseas technical support. I wish I had purchase another printer. If you want to print envelopes, forget it, It has no envelope feeder. You have to remove the paper from the paper tray, insert the envelopes, then change the paper size in the settings menu. Then you need to reverse that process to get back to ordinary paper printing. A real pain for an "office" printer.
